Jamie previously lived and worked as a barista in Melbourne before moving back to Ancoats and is where his passion for coffee really began. A certified Q-Grader, Jamie's focus is now to grow the company further, source the best coffees from origin and maintain overall coffee-quality whilst helping the roasting team with profile development.
Jamie hopes to complete the CQI Processing qualification soon. Jake joined the company as a Barista in late 2016 having worked at several speciality coffee businesses over the years. Jake's focus and success in developing our wholesale customer accounts, equipment sales and customer training is an invaluable part of our operation.

Originally conceived as a setting to showcase our coffee, it has grown to become much more than that. It has become a hub for coffee lovers, the professional and the curious. Here we bring together community, hospitality, and great shared experiences around wholesome food and fantastic coffee. In order to comply with the latest governmental guidelines we have unfortunately had to close the cafe until the government allows us to re-open.
Our second site is a natural progression and expression of our vision as a business. We have taken up residence in the 111 Piccadilly building in heart of central Manchester. This iconic Manchester Building has been lovingly transformed by Bruntwood Works in order to enhance the everyday. With the building the 1st to recieve Platinum Well Accreditation, it is a space that has sustainability at its core.
This is the epicentre of Ancoats Coffee Co. The roastery houses everything that makes what we do possible. Tucked away in the belly of Royal Mills, you will find a hive of activity. Within the brick walls of our home the workings of our roastery are open for all to see. From our green coffee store to the dispatch of our trade orders and subscriptions each process is laid bare.
Ancoats Coffee is a speciality coffee brand that aims to create incredible tasting coffee, while pushing the boundaries of speciality coffee, all with a sustainable and ethical ethos. Based in the neighbourhood of Ancoats, Manchester, Ancoats Coffee Co. was founded in 2013, by founder Jamie Boland and now comprises a dynamic and passionate team in the double figures, all united by a shared love of great coffee.
