Rothesay G.C. retained the trophy played for between the two clubs. The score of 31/2 to 3/12 was not enough for the Port Club to win back the trophy and so it returns to the Rothesay G.C. Trophy cabinet. A superb day was rounded off by a fabulous meal provided by Janey Jardine and the general bragging rights that goes on after this annual duel.

For Calum MacPhail & P. Barnett it was a case of djja vue in the Ettrick Bay Tea Room Summer Cup round 2. After a score of 36 in round 1 they repeated that in round 2. After a net hole in one at the 10 th in round one, Calum repeated that but this time with his 2 net 1 at the 11th. Even at this early stage in the competition they are proving to be the front runners.

Founded in 1912, the Port Bannatyne Golf Club can claim to be among the most scenic courses in Scotland, looking over Kames Bay to the Cowal Hills and the mouths of the Kyles of Bute and Loch Striven. At the top of the course, golfers can look westward to Loch Fyne and the peninsula of Kintyre. Mountains, waterways, islands, sailing boats, and vast horizons are pleasing distractions.
Using a clever combination of threats and bribes we have persuaded a club member to become the club 'blogger' but have agreed to preserve his (or her) anonymity. She (or he) will post a weekly golf journal full of wisdom and advice, or comments about his (or your) games. Tune in and discover the blogger's revelations each week.

Great course with fantastic views over both sides of the island. A very hilly course which adds it's own challenges. The 18th is a particularly interesting hole. Greens and fairways kept in a very good condition. Green fees payed into an honesty box and great value

What a great course and so unique, its the first 13 hole course I've played.I read about the course in the "Golf on the Rocks" book. The views are phenomenal overlooking the Cowal peninsular, Kintyre and Arran. They must have a brilliant Greens Keeper like playing on carpets.
