As long established veterinary surgeons in Alexandria, we strive to go above and beyond a high standard service, delivering exceptional skills to secure your pets' welfare. We are dedicated to providing all aspects of care for companion animals. McKenzie Vets have been established since 1955 and we have five highly trained vets and a strong support team who are passionate about helping animals.
Services
We will treat your pet as if he/she were our own, with care, compassion and professionalism. In the consulting room, we will always listen to you to fully understand the nature of your concerns and explain the treatment options open to you. We try to keep our charges fair and will endeavour to keep you informed regarding the costs of your pet's treatment.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
We've partnered with Video Vets Now so you can speak to a vet from home or out and about - 7 days a week between 8am and 11pm. Consults are 10 mins and cost 24. If your pet needs to be seen by us or Vets Now, your original 24 payment will be refunded. We partnered with Video Vets Now to help you get the advice and reassurance you need, wherever you are.
McKenzie Vets are a long established traditional veterinary practice and although our practice has grown over the years, our ethos has not changed. All aspects of companion care, including state of the art digital x-ray system, in-house blood testing equipment and a visiting specialist in ultrasound and endoscopy.
Once the surgery is closed, all emergencies are directed to VetsNow in Glasgow. If you have an emergency, please call the surgery which will then give your details to VetsNow. As we do not have staff in the building overnight, we may suggest your pet goes to VetsNow for overnight monitoring, but will always discuss this with you first.

PLEASE NOTE THIS REVIEW IS NOT OF THE PRACTICE IN GENERAL JUST AN EXPERIENCE I HAD THERE.
This is not the Vet practice I use for my own animals so I cannot comment on this place from a clinical satisfaction/value for money/how vocational the staff in this practice are. I was there collecting a dog who had got lost while he was out with me. I quickly posted him missing on facebook and found that a very kind woman had managed to catch him and she'd taken him here to get scanned for a microchip.
It was very nice of the staff in this practice to scan & keep him there until I came for him. So I award

An excellent vet practice where they really do care about both pets and owners who can be going through difficult times. Our vet Nadia showed a high degree of professionalism and empathy whilst we dealt with our well loved family cat Barney being put to sleep. We were given all the time we needed to say goodbye before he passed away peacefully and without being rushed. Thank you.
