The Davison family are local to Langley with our farm Lough Green just one mile from The Carts Bog. This has helped contribute to the fantastic local support during our early years both in our bar and restaurant.

We source our food and drink from local suppliers as much as possible, with beef from our own farm Lough Green and other meat from our local butcher W H Stevenson, vegetables from Stafford Hardy, our fish supply comes from North Shields Fish Quay and game from Northumbrian and Border game dealer Burnside Farm Foods. Our real ale is sourced from many local breweries such as Allendale, Wylam and Hadrian Border brewery.
Join us on the first Thursday of every month for steak night, where you can enjoy a choice of 2 locally sourced Northumbrian steaks and 2 starters for 36 - be sure to book a table for this as we can get very busy! At the Carts Bog Inn we can cater for large events both on site at the pub and off site at your event.

Picked up a delicious roast on Sunday - beef for him and nut roast for me. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were just right. A great Sunday roast option for both carnivores and vegetarians.

We used the Sunday lunch takeaway service. The food was good but the gravy was fantastic. It's bang in the middle of a beautiful area. If we're back that way when it's warmer we'll go back to eat there.

Excellent pub restaurant near Langley in Northumberland.
The menu included what was described as the famous Bog Pie which I had read about....slow braised beef with mushrooms cooked in Guinness within a suet casing. We asked the waitress how big it was as there was an option to split the pie into two and pay a small supplement for extra veg. Just as we were considering the next table had done just that and the half pie was still massive so we ordered same.
I have to compliment the chef on his/her creation, delicious thick gravy and loads of vegetables. Price was very reasonable at £8.99 each

We hadn't reserved but they were very friendly and we got a table for our lunch. A very cosy Inn to eat at. The salmon (got a little dish with surplus sauce which was an added bonus) and the pie dish were very lovely and flavoursome. Following this, the bannoffie pie(pictured below) was amazing and filled the spot!
There are a few vegetarian options and if you ask them there is always one extra veggie dish.
We are lucky to have found this gem on our route to Newcastle. Hand sanitizer was to hand and tables were wiped down between guests. If you're heading on this route, we would definitely recommend

Came here for a friend's birthday and the three of us each had three courses, all of which were delicious. Came to just shy of £90 for the three of us. Would visit again.

The lengendary carts bog pie is amazing.
I am very critical of Sunday lunches, the roast beef dinner here does not disappoint. If you have room for dessert then the white chocolate cheescake is a must
