The mudflats of Victoria Harbour were bought for $2.50 per square foot by a Hong Kong businessman who began charging for tipping rubble from the growing colony. The land began selling for $25.00 per square foot. Short of buyers for the land, the businessman joined with the personnel of the Royal Navy's China Fleet to raise funds for a Royal Naval Canteen.
A monthly membership that entitles you to use all of the facilities and exercise classes with no additional charges 7 days a week. A monthly membership that entitles you to use the facilities and exercise classes Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 5.00pm (last admittance 4.30pm), with the option of paying for each facility and activity at the weekends.

A great place to join if you enjoy exercise although it is quiet expensive. They do discounts for members of the forces and family membership works out in line with similar places. The swimming pool can be cold sometimes but is a good size with a great slide and water fountains that they put on periodically. Exercise classes are very good as is the gym with alot of exercise stations so that even when busy you should be able to use your favourite ones. The cafe is very nice with newspapers to read and there is a free play area for members children. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The
