Yelverton Golf Club
Terraced area available for takeaways. Yelverton is a delightful moorland course, designed by Herbert Fowler, who used the old mine workings as natural hazards to challenge golfers of all standards. It has outstanding views across Dartmoor and over Cornwall and is a very natural course, with Dartmoor ponies and cattle sharing the fairways.

The course has been host to many top quality competitions, including the EGU Men's Senior Amateur Championships in 2006. We are a friendly welcoming club, have availability for new members and many attractive packages for societies.
Services
Captains Evenings are a relaxed fun evening played on Thursdays from April to September and are open to all members. Normally played over 13 or 15 holes, the format varies from week to week and is played in teams of 3, with 5 points to the winning team, 3 to second and 1 to third. We do try and mix the teams up so that you will not always be playing with the same people.
If you are a member, please register and log in to your ClubV1 account to book tee times or alternatively call 'The Golf Team' on 01822 853 593. Yellow for Gents, Red for Ladies and Blue for Academy players.

White tees are for competition use, and, by exception, taking account of other players, how busy the Course is and pace of play, White Tees may be used for General Play during British Summer Time, with the express permission of the Secretary / Pro Shop, on a case-by-case basis.
The land which the course roams was once owned by Sir Francis Drake and today is owned by the Lopes family as part of the Maristow Estate. The course sits 600ft above sea level on the edge of Dartmoor. It harbours some man-made features including the Devonport Leat (built in 1793)to carry water into Plymouth which is in play as a water hazard.
An outstanding opportunity to learn and develop a new skill offering amazing value all year round. Golf is an excellent pastime for young people of all ages. In addition to the obvious benefits of an active lifestyle, golf remains a sport where good behaviour and sportsmanship are still expected and valued.
A great opportunity to support your Club in a monthly draw of which 50% will be reinvested back into a worthwhile project for the membership. Each ticket costs 5 with a minimum of one per month by standing order. The monies will need to in the Club's bank by 15th of each month with the draw taking place in the last week of the same month.

Having been a member of Yelverton Golf club for more than 50 years I feel I can comment on the clubs current situation. The course, with the short term problem of the damage caused by the leatherjackets aside,is without doubt the best in the area bar none. The recent overhaul of the kitchen arrangements is proving to be of great benefit to the members and visitors alike. The club management and support members are doing a marvellous job steering the club through very testing times with the virus issues which has obviously impacted on the clubs finances.M

Yelverton is a true test of golf, with fast fairways and excellent greens.
Each hole is different, all with wonderful views of Dartmoor to the east and the Tamar Valley to the west. A traditional style clubhouse provides a warm welcome for all visitors. A must visit in west Devon.

Just inside the Dartmoor National Park a great course in Devon, with easy access from the A38 in Plymouth. A good test for all capabilities and a friendly Club House welcome for a drink and choice from the sumptuous menu.

Definitely a must if you’re in the area. The Pro shop went out of their way to make us welcome firstly on the phone and then again when we arrived today. The course was a joy to play, lovely to see the ponies and sheep meandering around the fairways and the greens were great to putt on. Thank you again for your hospitality
