A pleasant bar on City road, opposite the north end of Finsbury Square. Wooden floors under a laid back open bar area, plenty of room for dining too. A good selection of beers, both cask and keg on offer. Also, lots of gin to sample. Happy attentive staff behind the bar, service was quick, polite and cheerful. Why Finch's? Henry H Finch is written on one wall, perhaps the 16-17th century lawyer/politician.
An enjoyable place to stop off for a drink or for lunch in a pleasant informal setting.

Avoid this place. The service is terrible. The wait staff look anywhere but at you. I've been waiting over 30 mins for a poached egg. It's still not arrived. I've asked the waitress twice to check on it and been told to basically shut up and go away. The place is DEAD. Definitely not worth it. Another couple have just walked out saying the food is inedible.

Not ideal, when gas is off for a drink, offer an alternative that's in line, educate your staff the difference between a lager and ipa. even just the taste difference would be a start. clearly this pub… only caters for the 6-8 brigade of locals who cannot be arsed to move. would not recommend as a venue.

Traditional gastropub with excellent quality food! I visited recently for a corporate event on a Friday evening and it was packed! Our dedicated area was catered to with a nice selection of food that was delicious. Decent service and variety of drinks on offer. Good decor and clean toilets. Don't think there's more you can ask off a pub?
