The veg burger was very good, decent enough place, although night was partially ruined by ignorant bar staff. Long wait for a pint also.

Very good food for a Sunday roast, but dining area was the temperature of the sun, and the table was way too wide to have a conversation over without raising our voices. Service was great.

Amazing place! Loved the staff, the vibes and the roast.
Great beer choices. I’ll be on the gins next time.
Can’t wait to come back and sit on the terrace.

Sunday roasting session here. Amazing place to come for good banter and a banging roast - got the beef which was succulent, the chicken option also looked look. A solid gravy on the side with an interesting and diverse range of roast veges. Very friendly staff too who were attentive.

Good ambiance, good cocktails, great tagliatelle and croquettes. Bar service a little understaffed but understandable at these times. Came here for a Negroni, stayed for that and a "Mad about yuzu!" - delicious.

Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. Sat outside in the sun, ordered small plates: potato cakes, spiced veg, Reuben bagel, and flatbread with garlic. All four dishes were so enjoyable. We had really really nice service throughout lunch. I gotta say this place was fantastic, will return ASAP!!!

Amazing pub, friendly staff, ridiculously delicious truffle chips!
Whiskey (De Beauvoir’s friendliest cat) approves, what more could you ask for?

I came here for a friend's bday party, she reserved the room upstairs. It has an excellent balcony on the second floor and additional outdoor seating on the ground level - plenty of space to soak up the sun (when it's not raining haha).

Drinks were great, the staff was friendly, 4/5 because they ran out of hamburger buns and we all were hoping to order dinner. A few people managed to order the burgers before they ran out and they looked delicious. Not sure about other items on the menu as we only ordered burgers.

I'll be back on a sunny day to try more :)

Good choice for a sunny day as has balcony and outside seats. They have some good bottles but the draft can be a bit run of the mill. The staff are so friendly though that I am always keen to stop in.

I loved this place. I'm from out of town and the owner, Adam as well as the bartender, Addison were extremely friendly and helpful. Had a great bottle of champagne with my family and enjoyed the thoughtful atmosphere. Loved the music they were playing as well. The menu looked great as well, but to be fair we didn't order food. An hour after leaving the bar we got a knock on our front door (we're staying in the neighborhood) and it was the owner with my wallet that I had left by mistake. They really saved the day. Good guys!

Mostly have been here on Sundays to have a roast. They make a fine roast beef. Can't say what it's like on a busy saturday night though.

Service is good. atmosphere relaxing and cozy. It's down the street from a friends house. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here otherwise though.

One of my local pubs in the area, really enjoyed coming here for a Sunday roast. The portion size was great and the Yorkshire pudding was great!

A top tip to share is they have an upstairs seating area with a nice balcony to eat at. They also have two rooms upstairs AND board games!

4 stars for me as the prices are a bit on the higher side, but other than that Talbot is what you want from a pub. It does get very packed in the late afternoons and weekends so plan ahead!

I live on the edge of De Beauvoir and there a lots of pubs to choose from in the area yet I find myself heading back to The Talbot time and time again, for the following reasons: the staff are lovely & recognize their regulars, the food is good and changes frequently, and the winelist is really interesting.
The pub does get quite busy on weekends so we usually try to get there early or make the most of The Talbot after work during weeknights, when it is much easier to get a seat
I have to completely disagree with some of the older comments about the staff I think they are super friendly and

This place is awesome! There is nothing pretentious or fake about this place other than the negative reviews! These do not represent the actual opinions of anyone that lives in the area or any one that actually frequents the place regularly!
There is Always a friendly and professional manner and if you want somewhere away from the city suits and the all too trendy places on kingsland road this place is a gem!
They have a great selection of wine that you will not better locally and are always happy to increase your wine knowledge and broaden your horizon. As well as this the food is fantastic! With

I decided to go to the Talbot for my
birthday drinks this weekend and was informed by the management when I called
up before hand that they no longer reserve areas on the bar but it was fine to
come down early and save some space. By 8:30pm the doorman was instructed by
the manager to stop letting people in even though the pub was at no way near
full capacity. At no point was the reason for this explained but instead we
were greeted by an extremely rude manager who seemed 'put out' by people asking
why our friends were not being let in. This wasn't helped by the fact that it

Nice looking pub, typical Gastro type pub - comfy couches, friendly staff, etc..
Recommend if you are in the area & are just looking for somewhere for a few drinks, meal & to hang out.
Reasonable prices too.
There is a nice outside bit too, it's in the shade but at least it's there!
The place also has a balcony and has fairy lights all around it! Giving it a Christmas feel all year round!
My only reason for dropping a star is that, apart from the few couches, the seating is very kitchen like - wooden seats at tables. Not bad, just a personal thing for me - I'd rather lounge

This gastro pub is quite local to me. Unfortunately they served me an awful pint I couldn't finish. I think it had been in the pipes overnight or something as my friends enjoyed theirs (poured subsequently).
Would not really be quite my kind of place, even without the dodgy beer.

Ok nobody panic...I came here when it was an "old man's pub" a Long time back so seen the changes. It got done and they followed the formula - DJ booth, quality pan-European grub and casually "knowing" service. The slightly pretentious is ok if the service and consumables are on point and they were...just...tart and risotto good. Service informal but informed. Obviously the new breed of desperate Dalston twat in the house but once twat-filter applied all ok...ish. Worth a treaty Friday night with your partner...

The Talbot goes above and beyond what you want from a Local pub. It was recently renovated, and while I didn't know what it was like before I LOVE it now. It has been comfy couches and GREAT music (most of the time}. Some nights they have a DJ, and his music might have inspired a conga line in the past
There are some sweet posters on the wall, like an old pic of Joe Strummer and Bob Marley, if that helps influence your decision to go there at all.
A little known secret is that there is an upstairs if it's ever too crowded, and a nice balcony to enjoy the lovely London summer weather

Nice pub in great location, but why whenever I go in here do I not enjoy it? - it normally before I go into the Vietnamese nearby.the staff are never friendly and quiet arrogant and the vibe is odd, real style over content. This is part of a small chain in the area that buy old east end boozers, fill them with furniture stripped in an acid bath and leather sofas that are cold to sit on, take the plaster off back to the brickwork (for a real organic feel, yaaaahh Tarquin!), stick a chandelier up and a blackboard selling 'Roast Butternut Quash' at £12.00. They are made to look like individual

A somewhat up itself pub in the fancy De Beauvoir town. It's green on the outside and has a pretty dark feel inside. That's not that they're evil, just the wood and the lighting isn't very bright.

Nearly as expensive as the nearby Northchurch but not as good. They often run out of food early. If they do have the chocolate fondant on the menu though, buy buy buy and drift away in choco heaven

Considering it is in the back of nowhere with other far better pubs within spitting distance it had a strange arrogance about itself with over ambitious (and overpriced) food and condescending service.
