Hummingbirds Education Nursery

In 1994, a group of parents, teachers and parishioners of SS Mary & Michael had the great idea of setting up a pre-school educational nursery. After much hard work and dedication, the nursery first opened in the church presbytery in 1997. We have a fantastic Playdale climbing/slide system, a construction area, a large sandpit, mini-beast area, viewing platform and a small vegetable plot.

Physical development is one of the most obvious benefits. Your child will learn to move in different ways, develop body awareness, balance, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance. Children learn concentration, observation and listening skills and learn to follow instructions through fun activity.

We are open term time only (38 weeks a year) from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday to Friday, a total of 30 hours a week. We open 38 weeks per year and you can use your childcare vouchers and Free Early Years Entitlement Funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, for up to 30 hours per week, depending on your eligibility.

We accept funding for 2 year olds. Depending on your circumstances and income, you may be eligible for funding for your 2 year old. All children are entitled to 15 hours funding per week from the term after which they they have their 3rd birthday. From the term after your child's third birthday, he or she can have up to 15 hours a week of free flexible early years childcare and education.
