Our child thrives at school. He enjoys every aspect and we love that all children know each other whatever age or class they are in. The family ethos at the school is something we see as unique. Highfield Priory School is an Independent Co-educational Day School for children from the age of two to eleven years.
Highfield School -later to become Highfield Priory School - was originally created to educate the children of local business men and women who were looking for an excellent academic environment for the education of their children. This history of the pursuit of academic excellence, a strong work ethic and good manners continues to this day.
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers children opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a Woodland environment. Forest Schools originated in Europe in the early 20th century as a way of teaching about the natural world. By the 1980's it became part of the Danish early years programme.

Fantastic school and nursery. Used a few with our oldest, but our youngest will stay here from nursery to year 11 as we have not experienced any other school for these age groups even come close to what is delivered at highfield. Outstanding is all I can end with.

The teachers are so strict and won't let any of the children in at break no matter how freezing it is (unless its pouring down) and you are not allowed to go to the toilet during some lessons (or you have to wait until someone else has finished going). Everyone tells tales on everyone else and that teaches a bad lesson that someone will always be watching over you in adult life and will tell people off and you won't get bullied, it's not actually like that. And in assemblies the year 5 and under have to sit on the cold, hard floor (very uncomfortable). It's a private school so I do not see a reason
