It's competition time at Scallywags Pre-Schoolas A&S Landscape, a supplier of school canopies, is giving away a shade sail to one school.
The children play outside every morning and afternoon and spend the majority of the time outside in all weathers and we don't have any covered spaces for the children to keep dry. The shade sail would be perfect. To win this competition we have to collect the most votes! Services
Scallywags Pre-School is run by a Voluntary Management Committee. We have a charity status and are registered with OFSTED. The committee members act as trustees for the charity which every charity must have. At the annual general meeting held each October, a committee is elected by parents, to administer and be responsible for the policies of the group, employment of the staff, fund raising and compliance with any regulations.

From starting the adventure of pre-school to your child moving into school, Scallywags will provide all aspects of learning through play. We implement The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which is a comprehensive statutory framework setting the standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to five to ensure each child will receive a quality experience that supports their care, learning and development.
This has been a challenging and rewarding year for the staff and voluntary committee. In May this year, Scallywags became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This was a 9 month process which involved a considerable amount of paperwork, and a 'pre-registration visit' from OFSTED.
The CIO is a legal entity in its own right and can hold property, and therefore we were able to transfer our lease to the CIO and release the 2 committee members who formerly acted as Custodian Trustees.Additionally, the CIO has limited liability, which is more favourable for the organisation going forward.
