The Bedingfeld Arms, a coaching Inn since 1783, has been refreshingly & stylishly renovated and redecorated by Stephen and Catkin Parker. As a luxury B&B with 10 en suite bedrooms, fresh home cooked food (much of it homegrown), real ales, a good choice of wines and close to the historic market town of Swaffham, the Bedingfeld Arms is a great dog friendly place to stay and enjoy the attractions of the Brecklands and the National Trust's Oxburgh Hall which sits directly opposite the garden.
The popular and independent Bedingfeld Arms incorporates the best attributes of a local community pub with the comfort and luxury of a coaching inn (10 bedrooms). As a freehouse, we are able to offer a hand picked selection of cask ales. Alternative tastes are catered for with a tempting wine list, ciders, a range of freshly ground coffee, exotic teas and original handmade cordials.

Services
The Bedingfeld Arms is located in the heart of a peaceful, rural part of West Norfolk known as 'The Brecks' with a wealth of nature walks and cycling routes in and around the Thetford forest and amongst the ancient heathlands with their unique flora and fauna. Overlooking the village green, and next to the magnificent early 16th century Church of St. John the Evangelist, famous for its rare terracotta sacred screens within.
We source as many fresh ingredients from as nearby as possible. Our family farm (Foulden Latimer) supplies spring lamb as well as game when in season. We have planted a new vegetable and herb garden ensuring a fresh supply of seasonal produce for our chefs. Fresh fish and meat are also provided by local East Anglian suppliers.
We have a large well-kept south-facing beer garden, with grass lawns, shade trees, lavender borders and plenty of comfortable and well-spaced seating. With a mix of rattan tables and chairs, traditionally designed but really comfortable beer garden tables and seating either under the verandah, on the lawn or under the shade trees, we enjoy serving food and drinks out in the garden whenever the weather is suitable.
With 10 individually styled bedrooms we welcome guests travelling on their own and parties looking to sleep up to twenty people. The five rooms in the main building ( The Penthouse Suite, The Bedingfeld Suite with 4 poster, The Red Room with 4 poster, The Blue Room and the Green Room) are the premium larger rooms and the 5 Coach rooms all offer tremendous value and are all dog friendly as well.
The National Trust's wonderful Oxburgh Hall is literally on The Bedingfeld Arms's doorstep. Indeed the Bedingfeld Arms used to be the Coaching Inn supporting this late 15th century moated manor house (which is open to the public from February to November and well worth a visit). Gooderstone water gardens and nature trail are just a 2 miles away, with a nice walk to them as well.

I at The Bedingfeld Arms from Oct. 28, 2021 thru Nov. 3, 2021. The accommodations were well maintained and clean. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. They were all very accommodating. The hotel and restaurant staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met. I ate in the restaurant each night and every meal was prepared to perfection. I especially enjoyed the different soups. For my first time in the U.K. I could not have chosen a more welcoming and comfortable place to stay.

Well worth a visit, staff really helpful, friendly and polite, food fantastic and great GF foods and staff very knowledgeable about GF and what was OK to eat. You were not hurried to eat and there was time between each course. A really lovely friendly good food and drink place to go to. Highly recommended

We had a fantastic meal here on Thursday evening, a couple of stand-out things were the staff and the food. The staff were super friendly and charmed the pants off of us. The food was off the scale good, the fish stew *chef's kiss*. Whilst on the high end of the price scale for the area, I think that the price was very fair and reflective of the quality and the experience as a whole. We still maintain that this was 'the meal of the holiday'. Also can't forget to mention how dog friendly they are. Dog friendly normally means, we accept dogs, but here they give your puppers treats (if you and the
