Services
The Nanstallon curriculum is delivered through termly 'child centred projects' based on a particular focus. Mathematics is taught following the mastery approach: fluency, reasoning and problem solving. The Life Skills framework ensures the acquisition of a breadth of skills and exposure to enriching experiences.
It establishes a reading climate - by exposing children to the imaginative challenge of engaging with quality literature. New authors can be read that are beyond the children's decoding levels.
Children apply their reading using the Big Cat fully decodable books expertly aligned to Letters and Sounds to ensure all pupils in Reception and KS1 move from decoding words to reading fluently and for pleasure and 'real' banded books that matches the sounds they know.Children read in guided groups and have daily book talks that develop their vocabulary, comprehension and inference skills.

We are teaching the full curriculum. We have a focus on re-engagement topics including mental wellbeing, physical health and fitness, respectful relationships and being safe. In line with government guidance, our school site is temporarily closed to the majority of pupils. However, our school community remains busier than ever.
Nanstallon Community Primary School is a foundation school and the governing board is the admissions authority for the school.
