People come into counselling for many reasons, but all are looking for a safe, confidential place to talk freely and openly about their concerns in a way that is rarely possible with family or friends. Please read on to find out how I might help you, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

I hope you will find this website a useful introduction to the services I offer. I am a counsellor / psychotherapist accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and registered with UKRC. I offer both short and long term counselling for individuals and couples in the Surrey and Hampshire areas.
Services
I originally trained as a Special Needs teacher and it was through this very rewarding work helping others reach their true potential that I was drawn into the counselling profession. Since qualifying in 2000 I have worked with various agencies both in the private and voluntary sector as well as running my own private practice in Farnham, Surrey.
The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably. The difference for me is that counselling focuses on conscious, specific issues whereas psychotherapy delves into the underlying aspects of personality that may be preventing an individual from realising their true potential. We will discuss your specific needs during an initial session.
I usually suggest we arrange an initial 1 hour appointment where you can discuss your situation and consider whether counselling is right for you and, indeed, whether I am the right counsellor for you. If you decide to go ahead we can then arrange regular weekly sessions on a day and time to suit you.
