A happy pre-school with a fantastic outlook, Ide Hill Pre-School caters for children from two and a half years old until they start at infant school at around five. We are open every morning from 9:15am to 12:15pm and every afternoon until 2:45pm - term time only. In addition, an optional lunch club is offered between 12:15pm until 1:00pm.
We are situated in the village hall on the edge of Ide Hill, near Sevenoaks, with views over Bough Beech. The hall has ramps and is accessible to all. We have a large, fenced-in playground for riding tricycles, pushing buggies, playing with balls, hoops, tyres and planks and making dens, as well as an enclosed garden with its own sandpit, tyre swing and climbing frame.

To foster a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where friendship and respect for others, the desire to learn and apply their knowledge in the world around them, are encouraged by daily planned activities.
Every year we get lovely notes and letters from children and their parents to thank us for the happy times their children have enjoyed with us. There's one particularly moving thank-you letter here, which you can download as a PDF and read at your leisure - it's an amazing true story that serves to illustrate what a great community our pre-school is a part of.
The Pre-School has today been accredited the Kent Quality Mark after submission to the KQM examination panel for evaluation. The quality mark is an extremely prestigious quality improvement tool only for submission by settings with existing good or outstanding criteria. Taking part in the KQM accreditation has enabled us to improve upon our current outstanding practice at Ide Hill Pre-School.
This will be followed by our leavers ceremony - all outside. We understand that the first day at pre-school is a huge step, not only for the children, but for Mums and Dads too! Settling your little ones and ensuring they are happy is our priority. Try not to worry and if you have any concerns we are always available to chat to.
We launched our online 'E-learning Journals' during the Spring term 2017. Children attending Pre-school will have a personal online E-Learning Journal, documenting their experiences and development during their time with us. Tapestry is a secure online system which holds observations and developmental records about your child in an E-Learning Journal.
