We are a family owned nursery (the only nursery we own) in the heart of Fairford. We have had the nursery now for eleven of its fourteen years and in that time the nursery has gone from strength to strength. We are extremely proud of Flying Start and the people who work in it. Our emphasis is on providing an environment where children can grow and develop, one that is comfortable and welcoming.

Services
We can entertain up to nine little hedgehogs at any one time and they are cared for on a one member of staff to three babies ratio. When your baby comes to us for the first time your key person will sit down with you and talk through his/her routine, likes and dislikes and family environment, all aimed at making sure we understand them and can provide them with the care they need.
We can entertain 12 toddling squirrels at any one time on a ratio of one member of staff to four. As with the babies you will be met by your child's key person who will talk through their routines with you, do not worry at this stage if your child still needs to sleep or hasn't shown any signs of potty training - very few have!
Our preschool room is in the enviable position of having a qualified teacher as one of the room leaders and Gemma's experience and expertise is undoubtedly one of the reason why our children go to school so well prepared. It may seem a mammoth step to leave the toddler room and climb up the stairs to the preschool room, but within a couple of days it will seem like they have been there for ever.
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education and working towards Level 3 in Team Leading and Management. I have recently returned to Flying Start from maternity leave and now work part time sharing my role with my Deputy Manager. I have always been very family orientated and very much believe this is reflected in how I manage Flying Start Nursery.
We take our food very seriously at Flying Start - not only do we follow the School's Food Trust but we also have some very discerning diners! That said, parents do sometimes have to take a second look when they see what their children have eaten. In the baby and toddler rooms we have a separate area within the rooms for eating snacks, lunch and tea, the preschoolers come downstairs to our dedicated dining room for their meals.
