Welcome to the website for St Michael's Pre-School located in the warm and friendly village of Hilperton. This wonderful and cosy pre-school first opened in 1980 and has been guiding the development of children in Hilperton and its surrounding areas ever since. Our members of staff are from the local area and many are parents of children who have attended St. Michael's Pre-school.
We believe that a high adult to child ratio is essential in providing good quality pre-school care. In our pre-school we have at least one member of staff to each eight children in the three and four-year-old sessions, and one member of staff to each four children in the two-year-old session. Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Today the flooring panels have arrived on site and the scaffolding is going up in readiness for the wall panels to be put up. All moving forward at a pace now. A bit of rain isn't going to put our contractors off! During the past week Gary, our fabulous project manager from Cabinco, has been overseeing the painstaking work of ensuring that the footings for our new build are level and ready for the floor structure.
In our newly built pre-school we are offering Early Years Education to 2, 3 and 4 year old children. These sessions are available for utilising government entitlement funding - 15 hours/week from the funding period after a child's 3rd birthday and an additional 15 hours/week for those families that are eligible.
As a registered charity, St. Michael's Pre-school must raise its own funds. At present, the majority of our funding comes from the government which is available to all children from the funding period following their third birthday. Two year old children may be entitled to funding, subject to certain criteria, from the funding period after their 2nd birthday.
