The unique name for our children's nursery was inspired from the foundations upon which it was built - an old strawberry patch. You can find us in a secluded part of a small village called 'Hempstead' just outside Holt. We operate from a purpose built log style cabin building, which we extended in 2005, located on a retired family farm, where the children get first hand experiences in a safe environment.

It is our belief to work closely in partnership with parents/carers and within the Key worker role throughout the child's time at the Nursery. And by supporting their development through our own developing effective reflective practice.
Services
Emma designed and opened the nursery in 2003. Before that she worked as a manager at a local nursery and pre-school and has set up after school and holiday clubs. She has worked in Early Years for 27 years. She lives opposite the nursery with her husband Paul who runs the family farm the nursery is situated on, with their three children George, Molly May and Harry who all attended the Strawberry Patch before starting school.
The Baby room here at The Strawberry Patch Nursery and Pre-School cares for children ranging from 9 months to around 2 years in a calm, caring and nurturing environment that is fully set up to help the children to feel settled with lots of different spaces for them to explore, resources to engage with and activities to engage in.
The Strawberry Patch Nursery and Pre-School has a wonderful Transitional Room which is a lovely purpose built room for children from around 2 years to between 2 and 3 years of age to build on their independent life skills and key early years development, whilst still being very much a calm, nurturing space.
Strawberry Patch Nursery and Pre-School has a very large main room with lots of smaller areas incorporated for children to explore, discover, learn and develop the skills they need for life. This room caters for children from around 2 years to 4 years. Our main focus in this room is to continue to support and nurture the children and to really emphasise the learning through play that is so important for all children as they grow and develop.
The Outdoor Classroom was installed in the paddock in 2019 and is a fantastic addition to the nursery. It provides The Strawberry Patch Nursery & Pre-School with a space for the children to work in small groups on activities such as art therapy and yoga and provides a space for staff and visitors for training and events.
