Delivering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to encourage growth of the individual. At Newlands we are proud that standards for all our pupils, whatever their starting points, are very high. We focus on learning in-context. We emphasise outdoor learning, visits, trips and residential stays to promote key learning objectives for our pupils.
Our pupils are confident and feel safe. They have an excellent understanding of what they can do to help and support each other during their time at school. We also have a limited number of spaces in our other year groups. Our web-site serves as a digital prospectus for the school. Applications for school places are available via the Admissions page on the Hampshire website.

Services
At Newlands, we value all our children as individuals. Developing the whole child is important to us and that aim is reflected in all we do. We are a small school that has real pride in the close relationship we have with our community. We understand the needs of our children and work tirelessly to ensure that together, with families, we provide a holistic and relevant education that will prepare our children for the future.
We are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers receiving services from the school, irrespective of race, gender, disability, faith, religion or socio-economic background. We work hard to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and are able to participate fully in school life.
Catherine has led two workshops exploring where we are and where do we want to be. This has culminated in our Landscape strategy plan, which you can read here. Location 5, The Courtyard - Is used as a quieter space for pupils to spend their break times. Despite feeling 'calm' it is also 'tired and empty'.
The statutory Prevent guidance makes clear that schools and childcare providers are expected to assess the risk of children being drawn into extremism. This duty is known as the Prevent duty. It applies to a wide range of public-facing bodies, including schools. At Newlands we have a comprehensive approach that enables us, as a whole-school community, to tackle extremism.
Newlands Primary School is committed to serving its community. It recognises the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom. It also understands the vital role it has in ensuring that groups or individuals within the school are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.
