Services
At Owlsmoor Primary School, we aim to encourage a love of learning thus making every day a rewarding experience for child and teacher. We offer a broad curriculum in line with the requirements of the "Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage", the National Curriculum and advice of the Department for Education and Employment and the Local Education Authority.
To help children develop independent skills and the confidence and self-esteem to persevere. To provide all children with equal opportunities to achieve their personal best whilst valuing each child uniquely. To foster children's enjoyment and enthusiasm through the provision of a creative and challenging curriculum which is fun, rich and relevant and which develops their understanding of the environment.
We ensure that through our school aims, agreed class charters, curriculum and teaching, we promote respect and tolerance for all cultures, faiths and lifestyles. As educators we have a duty to prepare our children for life in the Britain of today and to keep them safe. We value the importance of and support the current Ofsted guidance.
As a rights-respecting school we teach our pupils about children's rights and work hard to model and discuss 'rights' and 'respect' in all aspects of school life. This is achieved through curriculum areas, focused key stage assemblies, the school council, school policies, daily practices and the relationships between teachers/adults and children.
A Parents Guide to Special Education in Bracknell Forest summarises information for any parent or carer living in the Bracknell Forest Council area whose child may have special educational needs (SEN). For simplicity, we use the term 'parent' in the guide to include parents and carers. Bracknell Forest Council is the Local Authority and is responsible for special educational needs in its area.
