Forest Schools is an inspirational educational ethos that focuses on developing children's personal, social and emotional development through regular outdoor woodland and natural surroundings experience. At The Garden Preschool, Hayes, children have access to a range of outdoor experiences with an experienced Forest school leader (Mrs Simpson or Miss Jamieson), who will plan the activities that will scaffold the children's learning and play.
Hi, my son attended The Garden Preschool when I moved to the Hayes area, he loved going and was always happy. Since my son left at the end of 2017, I was glad when my daughter turned 2 last month so she could join. Since she's only done a week so far but she seems very happy and loves to wear her uniform and if I mention preschool at home she lights up smiling.
For many parents, just finding the right day care to register their child at is often only half the story. The second half is then settling in your child to preschool life and the challenges this can present. All children have their own special way of finding their feet at preschool. There are many things that we do as a childcare provider to help your child settle, but there is not a 'one size fits all' approach.
When your child is eligible for Funded Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) the below information explains what parents / carers must do in plenty of time before the term after your child's 3rd Birthday. The government provide this based on term time only over 38 weeks of the year, so in total up to 1140 funded hours per annum.

My daughter started at The Garden Pre-school when she turned two and settled in really quickly. We have always received excellent communication from the wonderful staff and their regular observations let us know how she is progressing. She loves to be outside, so Forest School has been perfect for her and the outdoor space is brilliant. She has… benefitted hugely from all of the fun learning activities and thanks to her teachers we feel she’ll be really well prepared for starting school next September. She constantly surprises us with new things she has learned and is always talking

I cannot recommend The Garden Pre-school highly enough! My eldest daughter left in the summer and my youngest just started. They both absolutely love their time there, and my eldest often says how she misses her wonderful teachers and speaks so fondly of her time there. The staff go above and beyond in creating a safe, happy, creative and fun… environment. Every day they set up exciting new areas and tables with different themes all centred around learning. anyways I joined the garden preschool Hayes back in 2017 when my son started there, my son has special needs so I wasn’t sure how he would cope, but I didn’t need to worry, he loved it, staff helped him very well in very different way, Miss Simpson made sure that… my son was helped and supported as much as possible and helped me with things to do at home advised me on so many different things, and without that my son would of left there with being the same as when he started, I can&rsquo

We moved to Hayes at the beginning of the year and I was so worried about my little girl starting a new nursery aswell as moving away from all her friends however the staff were so lovely and caring towards her and made me at ease everytime I had a question. The fact my little one doesn’t tell me much about her day the app we have with the… teachers/parents keeps us communicated which I love! She has made so many new friends and loves the forest school ( she loves digging for worms, something I personally wouldn’t do 😊). I’m so glad we picked this nursery for her

My grandson has really loved being at The Garden Pre-School since he joined at just 2years of age. All the teachers have encouraged him all the way through & have really helped us with his speech & mobility issues to make sure he has all the help to develop in these areas. He’s now getting ready for going to infant school in September & he’s learning in such a fun way that he really enjoys everyday.

As a Primary Teacher specializing in Early Years I was quite sure of what I wanted for my child. Having been into hundreds of early years settings for my job I was keen to find the very best for my child and was really hoping to find it. I was delighted when I found The Garden Preschool. The owner has incredible skill in recruiting and training such professional, warm and kind people. All the adults clearly understand child development so meet the children where they are in their learning and plan ways to help them move forward at their pace. My son started at The Garden Pre-School a few weeks ago and has settled in beautifully. He has just turned two and, having been out of childcare for a long time, I was concerned as to how it would be to leave him. Well I needn’t have worried as all the staff at The Garden Pre-School have been incredibly kind, supportive and caring in making sure that my son feels happy and secure. In the first week teachers even took the time to update me regularly throughout each day, via phone calls, online messaging and photos as to how he had settled and the numerous fun activities he was taking part in.

My son started at the Garden Pre School a few weeks ago and has been having a fantastic time. I have noticed his speech and understanding has improved immensely since then as well as developing relationships with other kids and learning new skills. The staff are wonderful and the pre-school itself is well equipped and maintained. The fees are incredibly reasonable and I’m so happy I chose to send my son here!! Thank you Garden Pre-School!

Such a beautiful setting with amazing facilities and resources. We really do love this Pre School! The teachers are so amazing and really nurture the children. The rapport with parents is brilliant and we have such clear and easy to use communication tools which keep us updated with daily events and activities along with our children’s development. It really does feel like a community and my son will miss everyone so much when he moves to Primary School but my daughter is eagerly waiting in the wings to take his place. Highly recommend!

My son has just graduated & left but this playgroup has been the best playgroup hes ever attended he was happy, settled & really enjoyed going, all the staff are amazing, kind, friendly always tell u stuff n raise any concerns, id recommend this place to anyone cant wait for my youngest daughter to be old enough to join so for now im gunna miss this place alot...

The Garden Pre-school is a lovely setting where staff inspire the children through many wonderful activities everyday. The outdoor learning is incredible through Forest School classes, where children are able to run and explore nature. The owner is a fully qualified teacher and forest school leader, who my children adore. We feel safe and secure in the knowledge that our children are being challenged and engaged whilst having lots of fun. My children just love it, and never want to leave, the staff are what make the place. So glad we found this little gem of a pre-school.
