Situated in the heart of Old Hayes, St Mary's offer a friendly educational experience with highly trained staff for children between the age of 2 1/2 and 5 years. We encourage learning through free and structured play, developing imagination, social interaction and self - expression. Our children learn about the world they live in by enjoying themselves and learning to play alongside others.
We have two well equipped halls and a large secure outside garden where children make good use of our messy kitchen, water areas, playhouse and bikes. We encourage imaginative play by supplying large sponge bricks, crates and boxes that magically transform into spaceships, camps and more.

The children of Hayes have been taught at this location for over 200 years. In the year 1791, Lord Lewisham, then the owner of the great house at Hayes Place, provided a property to be a school-house on the site of what is now known as the Old Church School, the home today of the St. Mary's playgroup and other community groups.
We are so fortunate to have a dedicated team of 15 staff members, who between them have a massive 114 years service at St Mary's alone! 2 members of our staff attended the pre-school when they were children and 13 of our own staff's children have been through St Mary's. It is reasons like this that make our pre-school such a special place at the heart of our community.
We are a leading dental practice in Bromley, with an NHS Dentistry contract for children, and we are accepting new children patients on our list for a limited time. There has been much news in the media of the need for children to improve their oral health and the importance of doing so at a young age.
After discussions with the Management Committee members, it has been decided, that we will NOT be offering the full 30 hours offered by the government. We will still however provide the 15 Universal funded hours the term following your child's third birthday. We will NOT be offering the 15 extended hours at the present time.
