Services
In recognition of our passion for healthy eating, our kitchen is located in the heart of our open-plan accommodation. While health, safety and practicality were our key concerns when designing our accommodation, we also felt it was important to have a provide the children with an open and interactive experience of food preparation.
Our goal is to provide a programme of fun activities that are based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum laid down by Department of Education (www.somerset.gov.uk) which are split into two areas, the Prime Areas and the Specific Areas. The Prime areas include Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and Physical Development.
At Acorn Nursery we have quite a routine to the day. In the morning we have Free-Flow Play, which means that the children can come and go from inside to outside as they please. At approximately ten O'clock we have circle time followed by some yummy healthy snacks where the children are encouraged to be independent and sociable with their peers and adults.
We would like to invite you to come and have a chat with our nursery SENCO and the Nursery Manager. This will give us both the time to discuss your childs needs, giving us the essential information that we need to collate together. We will then have a good understanding of your childs abilities, interests, skills and general needs.
