Our school is a place that makes you feel at home. Just like at home, there is always someone to hold a hand, wipe away tears or simply smile and say well done. We are honoured to have created an inclusive environment, within the local community, where all our children can flourish and where Purple Learning (embracing challenge, persisting, seeing effort as the key and celebrating others), is evident in everything that we do.
Our Aim is for Benhall Infant School and Pre-School to be a school of high aspirations, providing our children with the highest quality foundations in learning which encourages in them an enthusiasm as life-long learners. Our school is where positive relationships thrive, effort and success are celebrated, and where all are committed to give of their best.

Services
Benhall Infant School and Pre-School is situated on Robert Burns Avenue, Benhall, Cheltenham. We share our grounds with St Marks Junior School, which affords the children the opportunity to use the field adjacent to the playground for playtimes and outdoor learning. Our Governor Run Pre-School is an integral part of school, managed by Mrs Bennett.
The reconstitution maximises the potential for recruiting Governors with a broad base of skills needed to run an effective Governing Body. The Full Governing Body meets six times per year, once each school term with an additional meeting each year in term 2 to finalise the School Development Plan. Our Finance and General Purposes Committee also meets six times per year, once each school term.
Pupils are expected to follow our school rules and class rules that aim to keep them safe, ensure fairness, maintain good order and enable learning to take place. Pupils are expected to play sport by sticking to the rules of the game and obeying the umpire. Visits from local police/PSCOs to help children understand the importance of keeping the law and education about their responsibilities at different ages.
General enquiries can be made to the office staff - Mrs Evans (School Business Manager) or Mrs Wintle (Clerical Assistant). They will be able to answer your query or pass you on to the relevant member of staff. Hard copies of any information contained on the website can be obtained free of charge from the school office.
You will receive a form from Gloucestershire County Council in November the year before your child is due to start school requesting you to choose your first four preferences of schools. It is important you do not miss the deadline date for returning the form so that you do not miss out on the school of your choice.
