The Preschool is set in the iconic Tithe Barn in Bishop's Cleeve, and prides itself on its intimate environment. With only 20 places available, we ensure the highest quality of teaching and learning is embedded within our children so they are 'school ready'. Services
The Tithe Barn Preschool has been established in Bishops Cleeve for over 50 years, firstly ran by Mrs Jean Mason (1972-1992) then Mrs Lenora Smith (1992-2016) at the iconic Tithe Barn. The Tithe Barn Preschool takes children ages 2, 3 and 4 years old. Children from the preschool go to many of the surrounding primary schools within the area, including Bishops Cleeve Primary Academy, Grangefield, Woodmancote, Gotherington and Treddington.
Sessions are all day from 9am to 3pm. We ask for your child to attend a minimum of two sessions to ensure we can provide them with the best educational start ready for school and so they can develop a strong bond with their Key Worker. Collection time in the afternoon will start from 2:50pm with all children leaving preschool by 3pm.
All our Policies and Procedures are available to read on our notice board and full copies can be downloaded below here. On arrival at Preschool please report to the teacher for registration and leave your child settled at an activity. Parents of new children may stay for part of the first session in order to settle their child in.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education that begins at birth and finishes at the end of the Reception year. The curriculum is divided into Areas of Learning and Development, with Early Learning Goals that most children reach by the end of their Reception year. Our planned activities enable the children to learn through play, working through the age bands for each Early Learning Goal.

Tithe Barn Preschool provides the most caring environment for your little one to flourish. All the staff are professional, friendly and incredibly supportive. They always celebrate what your child can do, and encourage their development in such a nurturing manner. The setting has regular access to a woodland area, excellent communication with photographs via an app, and interesting visitors to reflect weekly topics. I cannot recommend Tithe Barn Preschool enough to give your child the best start on their learning journey.

My daughter attends the Tithe Barn Preschool and absolutely loves it!! We as parents have really noticed her progressing in so many areas since she has joined. There are so many lovely learning activities that are planned for the children and parents are always informed about what they are doing and their progress. The staff are so friendly and approachable, they really care about all the children. I would highly recommend this setting.

I can’t recommend the Tithe Barn pre school enough. My daughter loved going there and she was proud of her school! The teachers are outstanding in every way possible, they are all kind and welcoming and care for and nurture every child. The setting itself is lovely with all the resources the children need, including an outdoor area and regular welly walks.

My daughters happiness here speaks volumes. I’m a nursery practitioner at a local nursery and I would highly recommend Tithe Barn to anyone with small children. The staff really are fantastic and always one step ahead in everything they do. What a delightful setting where my little darling thrives. Such a special place :)

I cannot speak highly enough of this preschool, my daughter absolutely loves it and is learning so much everyday, socially and academically, more importantly she comes home so happy. The teachers are all amazing, so kind caring and look after the all the children so well, Iv recommended the tithe barn to all my friends with small children. I’m lucky to have found such a gem.
