Services
The long-established Hunters Bar Veterinary Group takes pride in providing the care your pets deserve. Hunters Bar Veterinary Clinic is open six days a week, so we are available anytime to discuss your pet's needs. Our surgeries contain well-equipped preparation rooms and operating theatre house modern anaesthetic and monitoring equipment.
We have a team of veterinary surgeons each with their own areas of interest and expertise. All veterinary surgeons attend regular courses to keep their knowledge up to date and ensure that our veterinary nurses and support staff keep informed of the ever-increasing developments in animal welfare. We are proud to hold the RCVS approved Training Practice status at both our main site at Hunters Bar and our branch site at Dronfield.
Hunters Bar and Dronfield Veterinary Surgery both have fully equipped preparation and operating theatres with modern and up to date anaesthetic systems and monitoring equipment. Dronfield has been kitted out and routine operations and dentals can be performed there. Our Hunters Bar surgery is available for both routine and more complex surgeries.
All medications are prescribed by a veterinary surgeon. Medications are then dispensed on a daily basis, Monday to Friday. We require at least 48-hours' notice for prescriptions and food orders. Please also be aware that if medications are ordered on a Friday, they may not be ready until Monday. If your pet is on long term medication, they will require a health check every three to six months.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call our surgery on 0114 266 3607 and you will be advised what to do next. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact MiNightVet Rotherham on 01709 377241. MiNightVet Rotherham is our preferred emergency services partner.

I wouldn’t recommend. A clear example of a cash grab vet

I am reporting this practice to The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for gross overcharging and lying by over dramatising the condition of my dogs leg with a view to charging me £4000 plus for surgery that is not needed. The initial examination carried out by one Mike Burke who confidently stated that the dog had pulled her cruciate ligament, not too badly, as he could manipulate the joint without causing any pain and that she was still able to walk using the leg. She then had X-rays for which I was charged the enormous amount of £1117.79 (the highest cost I could find in the entire United

Staff always very helpful and friendly. Sometimes end up at the huntersbar branch as they don't do everything in dronfield. But is very convenient and my dogs weirdly enjoy going in.

Wonderful experience today to get our kitten’s 2nd innoculations. The Vet Sinead Quinn was wonderful with the kitten and also lovely to my 9 year old daughter J who has her heart set on studying to become a vet one day. She loved listening to kitty’s heartbeat (Stethoscope) and answering some of the questions ... Thank you. A lovely visit.

This vets are superb, you will not find nicer in Dronfield, Chesterfield or Sheffield. All the team are brilliant from the receptionist to the surgeons. They look after our 2 dogs as if they are their own, that's exactly what you want.
