Peak Vets
We are a veterinary practice in Sheffield and we are very proud of our city. Our practice is based south of Sheffield City Centre, in the district of Woodseats where we serve not just the local community but also the wider Sheffield area. We care about you and your pet. Our experienced vets and nurses make sure your pets get the best possible treatment and guarantee your visit is as stress free as possible.

To make sure your pet stays fit, healthy and active for a longer happier life, we also offer a range of free nurse health clinics to monitor their wellbeing and development; these are available to any pet owner in Sheffield.
Services
Prescriptions are available from this practice. You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines Veterinary, (POM-Vs) from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy. Written prescriptions will incur an administrative fee which can be provided on request.
This means that we have shown to encompass everything over and above the legislative and code requirements as laid out in both the basic Core Standards and General Practice levels, but with the additional facilities and protocols for the investigation and treatment of more complex cases, that is required of a Veterinary Hospital.
Whether you have a new puppy or kitten at home, or a slightly older pet, neutering can play an important part in their healthcare for a happy and healthy lifestyle. At Peak Vets, your pet is in the safest of hands. We have a team of experienced veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses along with the best facilities to ensure your pets are well looked after.
Microchipping is a permanent ID system, which involves a chip, no bigger than a grain of rice being implanted under the skin of your pet's scruff. Each microchip has a unique number, which can be read by a portable scanner, which most vets, including Peak vets, local authorities and rescue homes have access too; ensuring your contact details can be easily obtained from the central microchipping database.
Pet obesity can lead to various health conditions that may affect your pet's life. We understand it can be difficult to know what the ideal weight for your pet is and how to maintain this. Our team can weigh and measure your pet and give you some advice on how to sustain a healthy and balanced diet.

Staff are always smiling, friendly and willing to help. I am always reassured they will do the best for your pet. Although prices of prescriptions can be higher than online, they are always fair with charges. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and will continue to use Peak Vets.

I registered with Peak vets when I first got my rabbits a week ago, unfortunately I had to use their service after only a few days after my rabbit got gut stasis- they acted quickly and now my lovely Merry is happy, healthy and settling in well again! They are booked in for their vaccinations on Friday too which I thought was very efficient and all the staff I encountered were so lovely and supportive in our time of need, thanks so much! An amazing team. Very capable and efficient with my extremely large dog. His first visit and he was like putty in their hands. Definitely staying on their list. Explained everything to me, and remain cautious around covid 19 which is paramount as have several vulnerable people around us. Amazing work, well deserves 5 stars plus.

Peak Vets were able to get me an appt very quickly to get my dog seen. They were v understanding and accommodating with Ronnie as he isn't very good with other animals. At the practice I was seen quickly by a v friendly and attentive vet. The receptionists were also very helpful and friendly. All in all a great experience

Since adopting my little rescue staffy Missy, I have been to Peak vets on a regular basis for various reasons. From the first visit from adopting her (before she'd even been to her new home!) the vet we see has been wonderful. He sat on the floor with Missy, continuously spoke to her as well as me and referred to her as 'Princess' which only echoed my feelings towards my own dog. The reception, nursing staff and vets are incredibly helpful and compassionate. They receptionists always seem to remember Missy and give her treats when she comes in. They even went as far as to not charge

We moved our 5 dogs and 3 cats to Peak Vets a few months ago and simply couldn't be happier. I totally agree with the above comments that all 4 vets and 8 staff are utterly passionate about all the animals that walk through thier doors. The practice is spotless, the waiting room is large and airy. The qualified nurses take an interest in all the animals as if they were their own. One nurse sleeps on the premises! Talk about 24 hour care! So far we've seen Dr Steve who is the friendliest and happiest vet I've ever met, he greets you with a smile and a warm welcome regardless of the

Used these vets for a short time now and rate them highly.

The staff are wonderful with animals and owners alike and take their time not to rush things through.

You really get the feeling that they care a lot about animals (as all good vets should!) and that they actually enjoy seeing your pet, rather than it being another odious work task.

They do a monthy newsletter with interesting information and offers. Unlike other vets i've used in the past, they also regularly do drop in days where people are invited to come in for a tour of the practice and a view behind the scenes.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful with all kinds of animals and we've taken all sorts down there; cats, dogs and even degus!

Both vets obviously love animals and they are wonderfully reassuring to us worried owners too. The reception staff are also extremely friendly and are on-hand to answer enquiries by email as well if you haven't got an urgent problem.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone in the area.
