Services
We are a dedicated small animal veterinary practice in Derbyshire that have been providing care for animals in the local area for over 25 years. Steeped in history, our main practice in Chesterfield is located in a chapel that was built in the 1900s.
Some original features still remain; however, we recently undertook over half a million pound refurbishment of the interior of the practice, creating a modern and spacious environment housing the latest equipment. Our branch site in Staveley was opened in 2014 following popular demand an offers an alternative location for pet owners to get their animal checked.

At Chapel House we strive to provide the highest standard of veterinary care for every stage in your pets life. We understand that your pet is a cherished member of the family. Our friendly and dedicated team are here to support you and your pet through everything from routine vaccinations to emergency surgeries.
Here at Chapel House, both our main Chesterfield practice and our second site in Staveley are RCVS accredited at General Practice level. This means that we have shown to encompass everything over and above the legislative and code requirements as laid out in the basic Core Standards level, but have also proven to have extra considerations in place that benefit our team, patients, and clients.
In order to ensure that this is what we deliver both now and in the future, we have recently reviewed our methods for providing emergency care for your pet Out Of Hours. After careful consideration we have decided to partner with Vets Now, who specialise in providing dedicated emergency out of hours care at nights and weekends.
As you're probably already aware, it's extremely important you're taking your companion to the vet once a year. This is because the majority of health conditions don't have any obvious symptoms. At Chapel House Vets we strongly recommend that all pets are brought to see us once a year - whether that's your cat, dog or rabbit.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value
We have just had to say goodbye to our beloved Max, this was an extremely painful decision to have to make. Lucy and all the staff showed utmost care, compassion and sensitivity not just towards Max but ourselves too. We are very grateful for the care and attention given in what was a difficult time.

I have used Chapel house vets for the past 15 years and my family used prior to this. Always had a first class service. Had three border collies all well treated. Two of which needed more than routine support. We were kept well informed throughout their treatment and well supported on decisions we had to make about any treatment. Always a first class service from reception to vets and nurses. A great team 🙂

Such caring and attentive professionals who make you feel so confident they're doing the best for your pet. Everytime we have called with a question or a concern we've always felt valued and listened to. We have always got an appointment so quickly and got the best treatment for our dog. Very happy we are with Chapel House Vets and would definitely recommend.

Made an appointment a week ago, to have a check up on my dogs ears. They’ve been pouring with dark brown water like wax and he’s been itching none stop.
I did look on google and all these signs point to an infection. So I thought that when I’d take him that’s what they’d say.
So when the appointment time can round (5:45) we were there. We finally got round to being seen, half an hour after appointment time.
They looked into my dogs ears and basically said ‘I can’t see inside, you’ll have to come back when they’re clean’.
Baring in mind that this was the whole problem, surely

Things have got worse since my original review. I was told to refer my dog to a specialist because they were concerned about his condition not healing. 6 days later the specialist reported that there was nothing wrong with my dog and that no treatment was needed. I don't believe in divine intervention and so think that the vet made a mistake in saying a referral was needed. After I complained, the surgery were poor in their communciation and refused to answer clinical questions relating to how their mistake may have happened. I've wasted more than £250 on top of the £90 they ripped me off for

I've used Chapel House Vets for more than 20 years and several animals large and small.
Today I had to take my cat Ziggy who was a star and purred the whole time. Daniel was very friendly and explained everything clearly.
He was great handling Ziggy even though he is very lazy anyway. I would recommend Chapel to anyone as we have no problems with them at all. The reception staff are lovely and friendly too, all in all a great veterinary practice.
