Quietus Vet
Quietus Vet is caring, gentle and professional - a home "put to sleep" (euthanasia) service for dogs and cats. There are many methods of euthanasia. Quietus Vet always uses the gold-standard 3 Stage Technique. When you have made that difficult decision to "put to sleep" your dog or cat, Paul the vet, will visit your home and guide your pet through a caring and dignified 'end of life'.

Paul can carry out dog and cat euthanasia home visits across a large area of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire including Derby, Nottingham, and Sheffield Rotherham. Paul's 3-Stage Technique creates 3 layers of deepening sedation which means your pet's final hours are made as peaceful and stress-free as they can be.
Services
The Quietus Vet is Dr Paul Stevens MRCVS - A Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Many of you may have realised, veterinary medicine and surgery has progressed leaps and bounds over the last 10 years or so. The "sky is the limit" when it comes to treatment possibilities. This is how it should be.
Most vets give a single IV injection through a catheter that is inserted whilst your pet is concious. This is often done out of your sight in another room. Some vets are now using a 2 stage process that involves a sedative followed by the IV injection. Unfortunately, your pet is still concious whilst under sedation, and so will still be aware of the final IV injection - the one that causes the euthanasia.
We offer a vastly superior service over a normal vet visit. When you are comparing costs, remember that Quietus Vet visits your home and offers the gold-standard 3-Stage Technique for dog and cat put to sleep. Paul Stevens is a very experienced and fully qualified Vet Surgeon in this specialist field.
At Quietus Vet, we do think it's better to plan - it really does make the whole process easier. He will leave with your pet at the end of his visit, and arrange for a communal cremation. There are no 'ashes back' options with this choice. Paul will leave with your pet afterwards and will return within 14 - 21 days with your pets ashes in your choice of one of these special caskets and urns.
We have created a map which shows the cities and counties in the East Midlands region where we are pleased to offer our caring service. The area marked on the map is the region where we can offer fixed-priced visits to euthanize cats and dogs at home. We can travel beyond this region in case you are unable to find an alternative to our special and unique service.

Excellent service I would highly recommend. They put real care and thoughtful touches to an emotional time when loosing your pet and so much better that it can be done in your own home.

My boy Dylan passed away nearly two years ago and I'm only just finding it easy to talk about it. Paul came to our home and Dylan, who was 14, was very taken with him, it was like he knew Paul was coming to help him. Paul was very sensitive, kind, caring and respectful throughout and I can highly recommend his service at this difficult time. Thank you Paul for your kindness.

I can not recommend Paul enough. He went above and beyond to make sure my precious doggie Chloe Rose last moments were perfect.
I never felt rushed, everything was so calm and beautiful. I had her in my arms till the very end.
Even after she had passed i knew she would be safe with him, he would look after her and treat her the the respect she deserved.
Thank you Paul from the bottom of my heart for being so kind to both me and Chloe.
You made a devastating situation the best it could be. I wont forget your kindness. Thank you x

Paul provided a first class, professional and caring service. He explained everything in advance and gave me lots of time to be with my lovely cat Charlie in her last moments.. Apart from the injections, I was alone in the room with her the whole time, laid on the floor next to my lovely girl, stroking her and talking to her.
She was treated with great care and wasn't in any pain. I simply couldnt have asked for a more peaceful passing. I would highly recommend Paul. He turned a difficult moment into one that was stress free and peaceful. Thankyou, Claire

We had to say a very sad farewell to our best friend, Chilli, on Easter Monday. It was an amazing privilege to be able to do this in our own home, with Chilli in his favourite spot, surrounded by his favourite people. Paul was sensitive, discrete and explained each stage thoroughly and professionally. Chilli passed away peacefully and was taken away by Paul, who then returned him to us following his cremation. We are taking him off to his favourite ever place, Skegness, where he is to be scattered into the sea; his final resting place. Thank you so much Paul, you made our worst day bearable.
