We are a group of small animal practices spread across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, first established in 1979. We are passionate about animal care and our team of vets and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open seven days a week at our Heanor surgery and have staff on hand throughout the night.

Ambivet was established in 1979 and is proud to offer a high standard veterinary care to thousands of pets across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Our friendly team of experienced veterinary professionals offer a wide range of services from our modern, well-equipped clinics in Heanor, Ripley, Ilkeston, Aspley and Wollaton.
Here at Ambivet Veterinary Group, we're very proud to have so many enthusiastic and dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
Our team of highly dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons and vet nurses are devoted to your pet's wellbeing. Your pets are always our priority. We all have our own pets and work hard to provide the same service to you that we would want for our own much-loved animals. At our surgeries we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment.
Many of our patients are receiving long term treatment and are eligible for 'repeat prescriptions'. Usually, we see these patients every six months, although for some conditions and often at the start of a new treatment, this may be more frequently. If your pet is due more of their usual medication, please contact us no less than 48-hours before you would like to collect this.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call your local surgery and you will be advised what to do next. At Ambivet we offer veterinary services 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. If your call is during the night or at the weekend then fear not we always have at least one vet and one nurse on site at our Heanor branch.

Visited yesterday for a health test certificate, our dog was with the vet for less than 4 minutes to check his microchip number. filled out his papers and then told the charge was £250 !!!!! no payment option had to pay on the spot. since rang round local vets and the price varies from £100 to £150. disgusted to say the least.

Critical: Reliability
I experienced appalling service here tonight, I would have given no stars but it's not an option. No clear check in procedure in place and even though I'd booked an appointment I was left waiting for 45 minutes before walking out in disgust. Service here used to be very good, something has gone badly wrong

I took my German shepherd on Tues to have a dental.i do truly believe that they really looked after him.hes a typical German shepherd quiet a handful they understood this and they were fabulous with him.hes just recovering now . Thanks again to all at the heanor branch you did a great job.

Be very cautious using this vets. Not only were they not providing care for my pet in the I house hospital but were putting her to sleep without my consent and refusing to give her me back. We have had the awful experience of having the police and rspca come to our house and threaten to take our other pets all because I tried to prevent them putting her to sleep. They are evil and just want your money.

Having just moved here from Canada, I was understandably apprehensive of going to a new vet. We took one of my cats in for the first time today and were over the moon happy with the service we received. The vet was lovely and kind, personnel on the phone was the same. No suggestion of any unnecessary services. I would 100% recommend Ambivet to anyone looking. Great service and my boy is feeling a whole lot better now! Thank you very much, we greatly appreciate you! :)
