We apologise for the inconvenience but for everyone's safety we are not allowing clients in to the practice. We please ask that you drop your pet off at the door. Please ensure that all your contact details are up to date and that you stay closeby the practice for the duration of the consultation incase the vet needs to contact you regarding your pet.
We regularly check the latest government guidance, which means we may have to limit some contact to emergencies only. If you are ill or self isolating and your pet needs to be seen, it is important that you do not attend the practice. Please ask someone else to bring in your pet as you could be risking the health of people around you.

Services
Anneke van Aalten (DVM, MRCVS) owns the practice and can normally be found here, whether consulting or in surgery. Although Anneke loves puppies and kittens she is passionate about caring for older animals. She finds it a real challenge to keep them fit, healthy and above all happy for as long as possible.
We offer 15-minute consultation slots during which you will be able to discuss any health concerns regarding your pet. You are welcome to arrange longer appointments if needed. If you have any special requirements please tell the receptionist when making the appointment. Our veterinary surgeons are experienced in dealing not only with dogs and cats but also with many types of 'small furry' animals.
We are located at the corner of Crookes Road and Spooner Road, where 'Witchcraft' used to be, in the Broomhill shopping centre. After refurbishing the building we installed a ramp and extra-wide entrance door to provide easy access for our disabled customers and for those with small children. The reception desk is in a large waiting room with a dedicated children's corner.

We carry out all routine operations, and also some specialised soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, on site. Your pet will be admitted in the morning between 08:30 and 09:30. During admission we will discuss with you whether you wish to have a pre-anaesthetic blood test for your pet in order to check their liver and kidney functions (more information on the importance of pre-anaesthetic testing can be found in the 'Advice' section).

All of our pets have been registered at this vet and have been for years. All the staff here are absolutely amazing and cannot fault their desire to help and how much they care about what they do. It's amazing how much they will do and how helpful they are. Would highly recommend this vet practice to anyone local.

I cannot fault this vet practice. Staff are incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful. They took photos of my cat last time he was in (he was making caps out of blankets) and emailed them to me afterwards - this was just so above and beyond what you'd expect a vets to be like. Their prices are completely reasonable. Staff are willing to help with any problem. 10/10 and more!
