St Andrew's Church of England Primary school was founded in 1847, and was a Church Aided primary school. The original school was located within the centre of the village and had two classrooms. The original school bell was removed from the school and now resides at the school's new location. The school moved to its present site in 1970 and now has 4 classrooms, a practical room, and library, Kiln room, changing rooms and sports hall.
St Andrew's CE Primary School is a member of Learn Academies Trust (Learn-AT), a multi-academy trust based in Market Harborough in South Leicestershire with ten member primary schools. The multi-academy trust oversees and supports all of the schools, allowing them to share expertise, pool their administrative functions and provide the best possible education for their pupils.
The curriculum at St. Andrew's is designed to provide a broad and balanced education that meets the needs of all pupils and gives them the skills, knowledge and understanding to prepare them for their future lives. We ensure that the key elements of our curriculum such as, knowledge and skills, well-being and physical development support the development of the whole child.
Pupils explore and develop ideas using a variety of materials and by looking at famous pieces of art from across the years and cultures. Children are taught how to sing and play musical instruments in a controlled way and to explore sound and create their own short compositions. They listen to many types of music, learning about how it was created and how it was used.
At St Andrew's our aim is to develop lifelong mathematicians who are curious and creative. We want pupils to recognise the importance of having a deep understanding which is achieved by investigating and exploring mathematical concepts. Fostering a growth mathematical mind-set is key to this as pupils become resilient and resourceful in their mathematical journey.

At this school I learn many new things each day. There are many subjects that are taught to us like languages, mathematics, science and social studies. We also have interesting co-curricular activities that help us learn better. We also go on educative excursions.
There are a number of extra-curricular activities also that are offered to us. We are afforded opportunities to participate in various sports, music, dance, theatre and art events. These are fun activities that also help us develop our hobbies.
