Chedzoy Pre-School is an established pre-school that offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. We have been running for over 40 years, meeting the needs of pre-school children from Bridgwater, Chedzoy and the surrounding villages. Whilst attending Chedzoy Pre-School children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities.
These activities encourage them to extend their development and increase their confidence within a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our aim of providing play and fun enables each child to reach their full potential. Our experienced staff hold a range of qualifications and knowledge in childcare and are supportive in ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.

Services
The curriculum at Chedzoy Pre-school is comprehensive and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for age 0 - 5. At the end the foundation class at primary school via the EYFS profile. Full details of the EYFS and examples of the activities and experiences are available at Preschool. The EYFS includes 'The Characteristics of Effective Learning' and 'The Prime and Specific Areas of Learning and Development'.
We are able to offer grant funded placements for all 3-year-old children and for 4-year-old children from the start of their funding period. This funding period commences on the term after their 3rd birthday. You can work out when your child's funding period will start by looking at the table below.
We hold toddler sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:45am - 11:15am. If possible please arrive promptly at 9:45am. These toddler sessions run alongside the Pre-school sessions so your child can experience and join in with the activities and get accustomed to Pre-school with you.
It provides a great stepping stone into Pre-school whilst giving your child the opportunity to become familiar to the surrounding and of being part of the group.Children and babies are welcome and must be accompanied by a parent / carer and remain their responsibility at all times. A charge of 2.50 per family is payable.

Chedzoy Pre-school is a registered charity and is managed by a volunteer committee of parents past and present. The Pre-School can not exist without the volunteer management committee and needs to have all members in place to continue each year.
The committee is responsible for managing the Pre-school, employing staff, managing the finances, organising & maintaining fund raising events and responsible for making decisions concerning matters affecting the group such as changes in policies and procedures in line with legislation, providing new equipment and organising outings etc.The Pre-school relies on fundraising for the purchase of new equipment and for many of the day to day expenses.

Everyone is welcome to join the committee, we need people that would like to assist in the management of the Pre-school and also we always need new ideas for fundraising and other Pre-school ventures!
