Our team provides a warm, caring, happy and stimulating environment to enable the children to learn, develop, explore and have fun! We follow a structured routine in which your child can feel settled with the security of knowing what to expect throughout the session. Our children all have the support of a key person who will ensure your child's time at Sunshiners is an enjoyable one.
Your child's key person will get to know your child's needs and interests and will encourage, support and extend all areas of their learning and development through play, planning activities and other opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Services
In the 1990s the playgroup relocated to the Parish Centre where we were based until our move into the new facilities at Wembdon Village Hall in 2017. Our pre-school is now a busy, popular setting for under fives. We are situated in a peaceful setting at the edge of the village of Wembdon on the outskirts of Bridgwater, next to open fields, attached to the Wembdon Village Hall.
The Children and Families Bill (2013) outlines the government's plans to require local authorities to publish information on services and provision across education, health and social care for children and young people aged 0 - 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The purpose of a local offer is to enable parents and carers to see more clearly what services are available for children with SEND in their area and how to access them. The process extends to early years settings and all the information below forms our local offer and shows how we have, for many years, provided for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Projects included weather protecting the shed, decking and mud kitchen, creating a new nature space with bug house, sorting and cleaning resources indoor and out, painting a fab new road for the garden and making something new for the digging area. Big thanks to the wonderful parent who sent us all some lunch and to the community for their donations of materials.
We are open term time only as in a school setting and close for 4 inset days per year. These are at the beginning of each term (January, April and September) and at the end of the academic year. Wembdon Sunshiners receive government funding to provide free early years education to all children aged three to five years old (beginning the term after their third birthday - see below) and qualifying 2 year olds.
We will fund part-time Early Years Entitlement places for three and four year olds starting from the funding period after the child's third birthday. This is also available for two year olds who meet the eligibility criteria. Child Tax Credit with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HM Revenue and Customs) of less than 16,190.

I remember Amelia’s stay and play with jo 2 years ago,I barely knew the lady and yet she had made me feel so comfortable I ended up telling her how we had just found out we were expecting, and how I was worried about Amelia having so much change in her life and I was worried about her starting.....I look back now 2 years later and laugh about how I… was worried. These ladies are phenomenal, they have helped my girl turn into a strong independent young lady. They have always had her best interests at heart.Fay her keyworker has been brilliant with her,I am thankful to every single member
