We are a privately owned nursery which is registered and regulated by OfSTED and Early Years and Childcare at Suffolk County Council. Beehive Day Nursery provides the highest standards of care and education for our children and an invaluable service to our families. We have built an excellent local reputation resulting in most families coming to us on personal recommendation.

Services
We have a very highly qualified team, including several graduates. The nursery is owned and managed by Mary Hickley. Mary has worked in Early Years in a variety of settings and has over 30 years experience of working with young children. She holds a BA(Hons) in Children's Care, Learning and Development and has Early Years Professional Status, the postgraduate qualification for those working in Early Years.
Our staff are selected very carefully, not only for their qualifications and experience but also for their love of children. We have a rigorous recruitment procedure and all staff are carefully vetted, with references checked and an Enhanced DBS check carried out for everyone employed. Our excellent reputation has been built over the years and our staff team play a huge role in this.
At Beehive, we offer a positive and stimulating environment where children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are welcomed and supported in reaching their full potential. We treat all children as the unique individuals they are, and believe they should have access to rich and varied experiences and learning opportunities.
Exciting activities, appropriate for children's ages and stages of development are planned to extend each child's learning and development, supporting the natural disposition of each child to explore and discover in a safe and challenging way. We document each child's experiences and achievements in individual online Learning Journals using a system called Tapestry.
Keeping children safe and protected from harm is of the greatest importance to the nursery. Children and families have the right to expect the nursery to place each child's welfare at the forefront of everything we do. All staff are required to take safeguarding training which is updated every three years.
