Catherine Taylor, started Busy Bees Preschool in 1986 and has been joined by her daughters Laura Cuthbertson and Ruth Lister. Many of the staff at Busy Bees have been with us a long time and have seen their own children progress through Busy Bees and on to school and even beyond. I can't rate it highly enough, my daughter is now in the pre school room and it is just fab.
The staff are knowledgeable and professional, and the environment is both very homely and well equipped. I feel confident that whilst she is there she is as well cared for as she would be at home, and is getting an excellent variety of learning experiences. Busy Bees makes happy children which, for me, was the most important thing.

Services
My name is Laura Cuthbertson and I own and manage Busy Bees along with my sister Ruth. I am a qualified teacher and I also have Early Years Professional Status which is a qualification that focuses on birth to 5. Other training I have been on is 'Beginning with Babies', 'Babble, giggle and words' and Paediatric First Aid.
Our Caterpillars room promotes the baby's natural ability to learn through high quality play opportunities. Rich, stimulating and personalised experiences is a key feature across the nursery and ensure the babies getting the best possible start in life. There is a mixture of toys that they would have at home and other natural, heuristic objects such as treasure baskets, and discovery bottles.
As your young toddler moves from our Caterpillar room to Ladybirds they will have more opportunities to develop their independence and to encourage this we present the children with rich, stimulating and meaningful learning experiences which allow them to grow and learn new skills at their own pace and develop their personalities.
The children can decide what toys, books or games they wish to play with, and as they make these choices, learn and grow through their experiences according to their own agenda.
Interactions with other children and adults promote social and communication skills, we encourage children to listen to stories, mark-make and act out different roles during their play in the home corner and develop their questioning skills so they can understand and learn about the world around them.

It still has the homely feel that the baby rooms have, but there will be more toys, role play, and craft activities that will help them to learn and develop. They will use the courtyard garden and also the pre-school garden, this will help with transition to the next room when they are pre-schoolers.

Both of my children have been 'Busy Bees' and it has set them up well for school and life in general. The experiences they have had, the friends they have made and the support they have been given have been outstanding. Busy Bees outstanding OFSTED rating is well deserved. A great business with fantastic and mature staff and great facilities. I'd recommend Busy Bees and the Beehive Out of School Club to any local parents looking for a caring, safe, secure and supportive environment for their 0-11 year old

I cannot praise Busy Bees enough..my now 5 year old son started Bees when he was 2. My son had hearing difficulties and a speech and language disorder and therefore needed additional support. This was picked up very early on and for the 2 1/2 years he was at nursery not only did he but my husband and I also received the best support anyone could ask for. My son is now doing amazing in his school and this is all because of the confidence Bees gave him. He also goes back to Bee hive occasionally because he just wants to see all the staff.
