The Ark
The Ark has two day nurseries in the heart of Stamford, Lincolnshire - both next door to Primary School sites - and a Forest School. Both nurseries are rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and both offer full day care for 0 - 5 year olds. Funded places are available for eligible two-year olds, and 15 or 30 hours funding for 3-4 year olds.

At The Ark we aim to provide a safe, loving and stimulating environment. Each child is treated equally and welcomed into a warm, homely environment, where they are valued for who they are. Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace, with activities and opportunities being carefully planned building from their interests and abilities.
Services
The development and training of our practitioners is something that we take very seriously at the Ark. After all, we recognise that those who are going to be entrusted with your loved ones need to be fully in touch with the latest developments in childcare and Early Years Education. Three members of our team hold Early Years degrees and two have achieved their Early Years Professional Status.
The day's activities are carefully planned so that children will feel secure, happy and confident. The children are encouraged to form good relationships with adults and peers. We provide an environment that encourages the children to be interested, excited and motivated to learn.

The children will begin to understand what is right, what is wrong, and why, and to consider the consequences of their words and actions for themselves and those around them.We strive to make children feel valued as individuals. We provide a wide range of activities to help develop speaking and listening skills, for example circle time, story telling and imaginative play.
Forest School - which started in Scandinavia - is all about enabling children to explore and experience the natural world through hands-on activities outdoors. The concept has proven to develop the self-esteem and confidence of pre-school children through activities that involve creativity, working together and child-led learning.
Being an outstanding nursery is only the beginning. We believe a child and his or her family need to really get to know and trust us before they can happily leave their most precious little person in our care. These important relationships begin during visits a few weeks before your child starts nursery.
The Nursery will provide all meals which are freshly prepared on the premises using local produce. Great care will be taken to always provide nutritious, well-balanced meals. There will be a strong focus on developing good table manners with all the children. Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.

After looking around numerous nurseries in Stamford and Peterborough, the minute I walked into the Ark, I knew it was the one for my daughter. The environment is warm and friendly, staff are caring and the owner, Jo takes her time to introduce herself and make parents feel welcome. You can tell that she has real passion for what she does and it filters throughout the nursery. My daughter loves it here, the activities, forest school and the delicious home cooked meals!

A wonderful home from home environment. My children loved their time at The Ark and as a parent I found it such a welcoming place. My children and I had fantastic relationships with the staff within the nursery and it really was like their second home. They never wanted to leave in the evening as they'd had such a wonderful day. They thrived in the nurturing and stimulating environment. My children especially loved their time at Forest School and my eldest still talks about Forest School even though they left nursery years ago! The food is also delicious, I think Karen needs to release a cook book

My son first started in the baby room at the Ark Nursery in 2011, my first daughter in 2014 and my youngest daughter in 2015 and all 3 attended until they left to go to school (my youngest is in preschool at the moment) and the place and the staff have become like a second home. My children only attended 2-3 times a week but they all formed a great bond with the staff and my eldest 2 still get excited to go in and pick up their sister from preschool and see the staff and let them know how they are getting on at school!
The staff are genuine, caring, kind, professional but most importantly they

With twins, a break occasionally and some new friends for my boys was the reason why I joined the ark. Unfortunately after three months - one spent at their foundary Road branch and two at St. George’s we have had to give up. Although the facilities are fantastic (baby room very small at foundary road) and the staff pleasant and friendly the biggest issue was the parking- both sites have serious issues clashing with local schools. It became impossible to attend because inverably I would end up arriving desperately trying to unload two babies whilst local state school children and their parents
