We are inspired by various approaches here at Casterton, approaches such as The Curiosity Approach, Reggio Emilia, and Hygge. Babies are born with curiosity. It is an intrinsic ability that supports children to learn and develop. We encourage that curiosity by fostering children's observation skills, questions and explorations, creating experiences that explore their creativity and imagination.
Our Nursery offers a rich and interesting environment which allows our children to choose their activities, learning and developing independently both indoors and outdoors. The children actively learn through play, enriched with a variety of adult-led and child-initiated experiences which gives them the motivation to develop their own learning.
At Casterton we believe supporting the community is essential. Therefore, we offer families an out of school holiday club, this is available during the school holidays for children aged 5 - 11 years. We are located in the county of Rutland and are part of Casterton College Rutland, therefore we follow the term dates of the College.

My daughter attended her last day at Preschool yesterday. She started in the Bumble Bee room. Casterton Nursery has variety in activities and has really developed my daughter so much. I love the way the staff use natural resources. They offer extra curricular activities and take the children out for walks around the village. The staff are extraordinary. They go above and beyond. Susie (Team Leader in the Preschool room) and Jo (Nursery Manager) have gone above and beyond forour family! All the staff are 'stars' in my eyes. Communication is conducted so well. They have so much time for the family

A superb setting for curious minds! All 3 of our children have benefitted from an Casterton’s established team of well trained staff. Great facilities, parking on site is an absolute winner and ours love the food; always dipping into 2nds!! Finding fitness, forest school and lots walks around the fields mean the children are always being exposed to new challenges but in a safe and very caring environment.
