Marden Pre-School Playgroup is run by an elected committee of parents and community members who, in consultation with the Manager, are responsible for major decision making. Marden Pre-School is registered with Ofsted and is a member of the Early Year Alliance (formerly the Pre-School Learning Alliance).
We admit children from Marden and the surrounding area from the age of two until school age. The Pre-School has a relaxed atmosphere which allows the children to progress at their own pace. We have very close links with Marden Primary School. The staff from the Primary School come to Pre-School over the summer months leading up to the older children leaving.

Services
As a committee run Pre-School with a Charity status, we welcome support from parents and the wider community. The committee helps fundraise to provide new equipment and improve the facilities at the Pre-School. Becoming a committee member is a great way to make new friends and be involved with your child's early education.
We work towards the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage set by the government and taken from the notes for the Foundation Stage (end of Reception class). Not all children of the same age are on the same level, they all develop at a different rate, so there is no right or wrong level.
As part of our creative development activities the children are encouraged to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials including messy ones. We would encourage parents to dress their children in clothes that they don't mind them getting dirty because the children participate in messy activities such as painting, sticking etc at every session.
The fees are 5.50 per hour for over 3-4 year olds and 6.50 per hour for 2 year olds, payable monthly, or as agreed with the Manager. Fees are reviewed twice annually in September and January and must still be paid if children are absent.
For your child to keep her/his place at the setting, you must pay the fees - payment plans can be organised but are discretionary and you MUST converse with Hayley in order to put these in place as soon as possible. All matters disclosed will be in the strictest of confidence.
