Services
We are lucky enough to be in Crantock, just two miles outside of the UK surf capital of Newquay. It's a fantastic location to surf, with plenty of empty waves in a wide and sandy bay. Stand Up Paddle Boarding and River Kayaking are also great sports to try in the area, with The Gannel being the perfect waterway for all abilities.

The owner sally is just rude! no acknowledgment for 15 minutes at the front desk because we didn't book. being a successful owner and doing well for yourself must have gone to your head and forgot about customer service. who is to no to book a table for a coffee and 1pm in the afternoon!? then made to sit outside because we haven't booked. what a joke! won't be back

Really disappointed...the extremely over the top covid rules have made it soulless and impersonal. All food, drinks, and payments via mobile app only, I can't imagine this would be helpful to anyone who struggles with IT. The staff were very nice but obviously had to abide by the rules which made us feel like lepers! The food was fine but not enough to ever tempt us back anytime soon. Really sad such a beautifully placed venue is now like a hermetically sealed unwelcoming room with no character.

3-4 years ago I this pub 5* but it's since been refurbished and the cosy heart of this pub has been torn out. We went for a drink as we have done since I was a kid, so 20 + years.
This no longer feels like a pub, especially a Cornish pub. You walk in to a reception desk! It honestly felt like a warehouse with a pop up bar in the middle.
The outside on a nice day looks really nice along with the views which thankfully can't change as erratically at the pub. Devastatingly, I won't be going back.
I will say their staff and covid precautions we're still good

We were lucky with the weather, so were able to sit outside. I had a Spinach and Ricotta quiche, my wife had the Huntsman dish, both very tasty and fresh. You need some computer skills to order. We didn't struggle, but we overheard other people struggling to place an order.
The place is lovely and very well kept. The toilets were really nice and clean. Good starting or end point for a walk along the coastline.

I found the Bowgie experience very good and very reassuring they are keeping covid restrictions in place. The process was seemless, quick and rewarding. We only had simple toasties but we're delighted with the food it arrived very quickly tasted great with beautiful views over crantock highly recommend

We stopped off here thinking we wouldn't be able to get a table as so late into the Saturday evening rush. We went into reception to be greated by what appeared to be the owner (Lady), she showed us to a picture perfect table, talked us through the app ordering system. Ordered and within 15 mins an amazing spread of fresh food was delivered to our table. Excellent service, Excellent Presentation and all round Excellent service. Thankyou.

Really nice pub with a public car park next to it. The walk fom here to the main beach is nice and easy.
You do have to download an app to order food and drink. Which was tricky to start off with because of the wifi signal, so it did take a good 10 minutes to log on and sign in.
The menus are good for light bites or larger meals, the drinks are a little pricey compared to most but you are paying for the wonderful view.
The social distancing was good around the pub and with the table service using the app. The staff were really nice, polite and happy to help.

Lovely views, good beer, and okay food.
The view is brilliant, the beer is good with a great selection of Gins. Service is okay.
There are over a hundred tables and we came at a busy time. The food arrived hot and in good time.
I ordered crab cakes and they were obviously taken straight from the freezer to the fryer. The chips had the same "pre fried" texture I remember from my catering days.
I do not get the impression that any of the food is truly freshly prepared.
Would return, but not for a special meal next time.
