The Rising Sun
A beautiful pub serving great food all day from breakfast to dinner, plus we have gorgeous rooms available. Situated right on the picturesque harbour of St Mawes with views of the Roseland Peninsula beyond. The Rising Sun is a charming pub serving modern and traditional style food in an atmosphere of luxury and elegance in a stunning location right on the harbour.

Why not stay with us in one of our traditionally styled rooms, some which offer sea views. Our rooms are stylishly designed to a high standard, which aims to combine luxury and elegance with comfort and convenience. Each room has it's own bath with shower, hair-dryers and coffee & tea making facilities, alarm/radios, & a flat screen tv with freeview.
Services
Our boutique pub accommodation offers singles, doubles, twins, family rooms and suites, some offering seaviews. Comfort, luxury and convenience in the centre of St Mawes in Cornwall. It's a lovely pub with a lunchtime Sunday carvery, the food was good quality and we all enjoyed our meal along with a nice selection of local beers & ciders.
To cater for the discerning tastes of our visitors The Rising Sun has combined modern and traditional style in an atmosphere of luxury and elegance. All our food is sourced locally whenever possible, we even make our own chips which are simply divine!

So if the sun is shining, enjoy the weather on our perfectly positioned terrace, warm up in front of the log burner on a cold day or just simply enjoy the fabulous views from our conservatory overlooking the harbour and bay beyond whatever the weather!Open daily from 8.30am for coffees and breakfast.
St Mawes is a magnet for visitors from our busy cities wishing to exchange the hustle and bustle for the calm serenity of the area. The harbour is very popular with the yachting community and some of the main activities in the area are sailing and water-based sports. To this end there are several local companies offering both equipment hire and tuition, which are bookable from the The Rising Sun.
We are dog friendly and warmly welcome well-behaved dogs at The Rising Sun, St Mawes, both in our bar and in our boutique rooms, we even supply bowls, food and treats if required. Everything about The Rising Sun is dog friendly. Our ensuite rooms allow dogs to stay. All we ask is that dogs are well behaved and that they don't jump on the beds and are not left alone in the rooms.

Nice pub, comfortable & cosy in winter with decent local beers. Food ok - standard pub grub, nothing to write home about. Staff mostly very young and inexperienced.

Didn’t expect a pub like this to have an vegan options. But the Cauliflower ravioli and the Vegan fish and chips were to die for. They tasted incredible. Service was also amazing and super quick.

Only popped in for a midweek drink, but was welcomed by the cheerful staff and enjoyed relaxing in the attractive lounge overlooking the harbour. Immaculately clean.

Great Sunday roast. Gravy was best I've had. I had beef which was tender and the vegetarians liked their nut roasts

Very nice hotel room, clean and good staff. Plenty of space, bright with 2 opening windows overlooking the harbour and beer patio, limited, but free parking which we managed to use all Bank Holiday weekend. View from our room.

Great Quayside pub. Have been going to the 'Riser' for 20+ years and have never once not had a great pint and a great time.
Excellent staff and great variable menus.
Definitely pop in if you are in St Mawes

Good location and service. Sat at a table to the front of the restaurant with nice view of the harbour. We arrived at St Mawes from Truro by late afternoon boat operated by Truro Boat Tours (recommended). I had the cod. Although nicely cooked it was quite a small fillet, so would not order next time. Would probably visit this place again.
