We aim to ensure that every child feels happy, safe and valued and achieves their full potential, socially and academically. The Cardwell Wheel is our logo and "Learning for Life" is our motto. Each segment of the wheel represents a part of our planned actions in our aim to remove barriers to learning, build partnerships, raise achievement and become a valued and integral part of our local and wider community.
The children absolutely loved their year group Sports Days at the end of the Summer term. Each session started with a mass warm up to music, which certainly put everyone in a good mood and then the children rotated around the different events.

At Cardwell we are committed to the development of the whole child. The highest aspirations of all members of the school community ensure that Cardwell pupils receive the very best in every aspect of their experiences here. We are extremely proud of Cardwell children and the wide variety of exciting, stimulating and challenging opportunities provided across the curriculum.
The safeguarding and welfare of our children is at the core of our beliefs and all children are aware of their rights and responsibilities. The rights are universal and promote the British, universal values of: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.
Cardwell School has always recognised the duty to promote pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development through values and ethos and as part of a broad and balanced curriculum. We act upon our duty to 'actively promote' the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance.
We are recognised by UNICEF as a Rights Respecting School. The safeguarding and welfare of our children is at the core of our beliefs and all children are aware of their rights and responsibilities. Children and adults work together to recognise and act upon the rights of the child within our school, our local community and the wider world.
