Independent, non-corporate vet clinic, offering quality honest healthcare tailored to your individual pet. We strive to continually deliver a gold standard service for both our patients and clients from the minute you step in the door, with a totally honest open approach, keeping you involved in key decision making where appropriate.

We pride ourselves on our integrity and in our absolute utter belief that your pet genuinely comes first. Most canine patients will pull to get in here, testament to the fact that they enjoy coming (although there are the occasional exceptions whom we still need to win over). Our exceptional levels of care continue throughout the clinic, with a dedicated team of vets, nurses and assistants.
Services
She vehemently disagrees with the corporatization of veterinary care, as she feels strongly that patient care should be the priority in our profession, not providing for shareholders or for pension pots.

Initially, Cara operated Whiteley Vets as a mobile service, visiting patients in their own homes, whilst she sourced premises, negotiated the red tape involved in setting up, project managed the build of the clinic and then fitted it out to the superlative level which we enjoy. We have continued to invest in further cutting edge equipment, maintaining our position amongst the best equipped practices in Hampshire.
Hazel Marshall started with us in 2018, having previously worked at another local practice. I've seen two of the vets Cara and Sasja who are fantastic and work so hard to make sure they do the best for your pet. We were lucky to have Cara as our vet taking care of Max and Gus since they were puppies, a time spanning 14 years!
For most routine procedures, the most worrying aspect for the owner is the anaesthetic. We use a variety of agents and equipment, all designed to maximize the safety of an anaesthetic.

This includes tailoring pre-medications to individual animals based on their demeanour, procedure and 'ASA' (Anaesthetic Safety Assessment); choosing the most appropriate induction agent and then inhalational agent (Isofluorane or Sevofluorane); using the most modern and suitable equipment for maintenance and monitoring; having a range of supportive measures available to enable changing circumstances to be dealt with promptly and efficiently as required, to the best of our ability.
We have a fully fitted lab including microscopes, an incubator and various blood testing machines to test blood gases, biochemistries, haematology and endocrinology. We also do SNAP testing and titre testing here for various diseases. Endocrinology testing looks at hormone levels such as progesterone, cortisol, thyroxine, TSH and CRP.
We have a separate dental theatre with tub table and surgical lights. This has a dental air compressor to drive a drill, pressurized water and polisher, which, together with a full set of well-maintained state of the art instruments, including a 'Vet Tome extractor' allows Max to work her magic as atraumatically as possible.

Although we have been with this Veterinary practice for many years, our faith in Cara and her team does not change. They have been amazing since operating on our 10 year old spaniel for a ruptured cruciate ligament. It's just so comforting knowing we are in such great hands. Thanks Cara and team.

One of my dogs needed emergency surgery to remove broken teeth and x-rays to ensure no further injury to his jaw. The Vet got him in immediately and operated. Thoroughly explained what she'd found and had to do. The Vet Nurse explained thoroughly the aftercare and medications required along with possible problems. Cannot thank them enough.

I can highly recommend thus Veterinary practice for the following reasons: they really care about their patients and this shines through in abundance. I really trust their judgement because they take the time to explain what's going on so you can make informed decisions. Our Westie recently had something wrong with his nose that was affecting his breathing. They had all the equipment and expertise to immediately take action. They diagnosed an infection probably caused by some food trapped in the nasal cavity. I'm pleased to say that a few days later my dog is well on way to making a full recovery
