This is a voluntary initiative in place to give clients the confidence in the quality of care their animals receive.

It is our policy to re-assess animals requiring repeat prescriptions every six months, although this may vary depending on the condition. Frequent assessment allows us to ensure that the current medication and dosage is suitable. If it is more than six months since we last saw the animal you will be asked to arrange an appointment with a vet before further medication can be dispensed.
At Friars Moor, we not only care for your pets when they are sick, but we also can help you to keep them healthy and free from the common infectious diseases. The preventive health care that we offer is based around vaccination, regular worm and flea treatment and giving advice on pet health and feeding.
Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic is a professional, dedicated and friendly team providing excellent care in the best interests of you and your pets. Our practice benefits from modern facilities and we constantly endeavour to remain progressive and current with developments in veterinary science. Our vet services include consultations in three locations, home visits, 24 hour emergency care and repeat prescription service.
Our Sturminster Newton and Blandford branches are well equipped with modern x-ray, ultrasound, operating and hospitalisation facilities. At our Shaftesbury branch, we currently offer vet consultations only. Our team constantly work towards maintaining high levels of hygiene throughout the branches at all times.

On holiday in Sturminster 10 mins before closing our dog has an accident. Called Surgery who stayed open to wait for us. Dan expertly dealt with the situation. Went back following day for further procedure Rhianne very kind. Our dog very happy. All made so easy. Hopefully all’s well. Dog content this evening.

Had to find a vet whilst on holiday at Pimperne due to my dog being in a lot of pain following a trip to the beach. Swimmers tail was diagnosed and anti-inflammatories prescribed. I can't thank them enough for seeing us at such short notice. The whole process was so easy and Rufus was so well treated.

My dog had an operation recently. The vets are just so superb. Not only did they give my dog outstanding care during his op but they also gave me and my dog such care and tremendous support when my dog didnt want to come back into the vets for his post op check cause he was so scared. A big thank you to all the team. 👏👏

I have used Friars Moor for the last 16 years to look after my dogs who have always been treated with the utmost kindness as well as in a professional manner. Their vets all have their own expertise so I can be confident that there is always a depth of care not always available with smaller practices. Their 3 practices allow flexibility on visits which is useful for me and I would totally recommend them to give you total confidence in the best care for your pets. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
