Thank you for choosing our practice to look after your pet. Healthy and happy pets require certain routine treatments. In order to help you meet these needs we have designed the Piddle Valley Health Plan. By joining our plan you spread the costs of routine care over the year and receive further discounts on other selected treatments.
If your pet requires long-term medication to keep them healthy a repeat prescription can be set up where a vet has deemed this appropriate.
There are strict regulations we are required to follow when dispensing medicines and we need to examine the patient at least every six months to ensure that the animal being treated is not suffering any side effects, or that their health is not deteriorating unnoticed and that the medication there are on is the best possible one for them at that time.

The surgery post code is: DT2 8SD. However, if you are using your sat nav, aim for the Blue Vinny public house as sometimes GPS will send you the wrong way. The post code for the Blue Vinny is: DT2 8TE. Continue on the dual carriageway past the first 2 exits (Bockhampton/Hardy's Cottage, and the first exit for Puddletown/Troy town).

The vets are wonderful and have been amazing with my birds. Some of the reception staff however could do to work on their people skills, one in particular was rather rude.
I was also left stranded and desperate for the loo as they wouldn't let me in, despite being allowed in less than a week prior, the covid restrictions remaining unchanged. Being a disabled man in a wheelchair, 40 minutes away from home for my appointment with no mode of transport to get anywhere else. Having also had a kidney transplant it put me at risk of an infection and set off a panic attack as I did not know the area and

Piddle Valley is my go to vets when it comes to my 3 birds. It is the best vets that I have come across that deals with exotic pets. My conure is very weary of strangers and doesn't like vet visits. I was impressed with the vet we saw in piddle Valley, she was very knowedable and was able to keep my bird at ease throughout the visit.

I have been using Pvv for 10 years now. Started using their out of hours service when my pet bird was sick. Was absolutely amazed by the level of professionalism, and the quality of care that went into looking after my pet. Never went to another vet despite it being a bit of a drive to get there. David who is a vet and owns the practice runs a tight ship, makes brilliant clinical decisions (based on welfare as well as being pragmatic about costs) and takes time to explain things to you. My bird had a good quality of life despite having several chronic issues due to their care and expertise. A fantastic
