Services
It operates from a farm in the heart of the Blackmore Vale. The practice is exclusively equine and prides itself in offering a first rate service to our clients, with industry-leading equipment. My mare, Queenie, adores Peter.

His calm, sympathetic, soothing manner keep her stress free whilst his thoroughness, wide experience, willingness to explain every step of the process and to keep an open mind, are all the reassurance I need to know she is in the best of hands. You will be hard pressed to find a better equine vet than Peter.
Sclater Equine provides a wide range of services to help ensure your horses are kept in the best of health so they can perform to the best of their ability. Our services are tailored to each horse's individual needs as no two horses' requirements are the same. Vaccinations are an important part of your horse's routine healthcare and are often mandatory if you are competing under rules.
Vaccinations are an important part of your horse's routine health care and it is the responsibility of the owner or trainer to ensure that their horse meets the requirements demanded by the event organising authority for any event in which they wish to compete. Below are timings for commonly used vaccination programs, but please note that some organisations require vaccinations to be given more often.
We aim to look after your horses' to the best of our ability. Looking after their worming needs is fundamental to this aim. We want to ensure your horses are only wormed when needed, with the correct wormer at the correct time, taking the hassle out of worming. If you join our worming plan, you will receive a worming pack for the year and we will let you know when everything needs to be done.
Dentistry is an integral part of your horse's healthcare, and uncomfortable teeth are a frequent cause of poor performance. Your horse's teeth should be examined at least every year. Some horses, especially those with dental abnormalities, may require dental work more frequently. Please contact us if you think your horse may be having dental problems and we will arrange for your horse to have a thorough dental examination.
