It wasn't long before our unique service was recognised and we became the first optician in the UK to be named as "Contact Lens Practice of the Year". Demand for our personal, high quality care was such that the practice quickly grew and we soon added two further consulting rooms.

At Viewpoint Opticians we are constantly giving our customers tips and advice on how to keep their eyes clean and healthy. After all, your eye sight is very important, and any reduction in the quality of your vision would be a terrible loss. The best thing you can do to assure the highest standards of eye care is to book yourself an appointment for a thorough eye examination with a qualified optometrist.
Yes, you should really get your eyes tested roughly every two years. This is just to make sure that your eyes are healthy and your vision is strong and consistent. Remember your eyes need to be looked after because you only get one pair! Treat an eye test the same as your dentist - you go for a check-up every year or so, to make sure everything is as it should be.
Optical Coherence Tomography or otherwise known an 'OCT' is a new imaging technique that provides high resolution and cross-sectional images of the eye. In short it gives us opticians a very unique look at the retina and a real accurate representation of your actual eye ball. An OCT scan allows microstructures of the eye to be imaged and shows different colour-coded layers of the retina.
In addition to some very well known names, we also offer many frame ranges from smaller companies throughout the world, who design and manufacture their own original and unique collections of eyewear. For those who appreciate exquisite eyewear and require something extra special we have a stunning collection of gold and jewelled frames made using the finest materials including solid gold, diamonds, natural horn and wood.

I attend Viewpoint for my eye examination and glasses and have always been very happy with the service I have had. The staff are very professional and helpful.
In the last year I have had several appointments with John Manley the audiologist. He gave me a very reassuring consultation and hearing test.
I am a regular swimmer and often get ear infections. John advised me to get some bespoke earplugs made and I have attended regular review appointments with him to get my ear wax removed by suction and I have had significantly less ear infections.
I have complete confidence in John and the staff

Having been a customer of the excellent Viewpoint Opticians for a number of years, I was pleased to see the audiometry service being offered. I attended John today and was more than impressed. A really great guy who listened to my hearing history, explained the tests he was carrying out, what to expect and then clearly, with my thoughts and needs being paramount, recommended the 'what nexts'. A superb audiometry service to add to the optical offer. A must if you care about your eyes and ears.

First time here, was very impressed. Amazing eye test equipment that they use in a standard eye test. Emily was very informative and answered any questions I had about the equipment or my eyes. I really struggled to find fault with anything. Service, knowledge, frame selection and general expertise and professionalism from all staff were all excellent.
