Heavitree Community pre-school is a community run group. We are managed by a committee of parents, who are elected annually. We are a registered charity, and run as a non-profit organisation. We were lucky enough to be awarded a lottery grant in 2010, so we were able to move to a purpose built site next to St Michael's Church of England Primary Academy.
We are able to benefit from some of the space and facilities at St Michaels. We have strong links and working relationships with St Michaels and other local primary schools.

Thailand - Linked to the types of things we have been doing at Pre-school. One of the many things we have looked at is the flag for Thailand. We looked at colour, pattern and copied these colours onto outlined pages.
Here at Heavitree Community Preschool we make the most of all our space both inside and out. Here are a couple pictures of our front garden the first space you will see on arrival. The children help to care for and grow many different fruits, vegetables and herbs to use for cooking. We really enjoy exploring this area and watching the changes over time.
Heavitree Community pre-school is accessible to all through fair and clear procedures. It is our intention to make our pre-school accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community. Ensure that basic information about our pre-school is accessible - in written and spoken form, if applicable we would try to sauce information in different languages.
Children learn about the natural world, its animals and other living creatures, as part of the Learning and Development Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This may include contact with animals, or other living creatures, either in the setting or on visits. We aim to ensure that this is in accordance with sensible hygiene and safety controls.
