Melbourne Vets
I am from southern Ireland and qualified in 2007. Since qualifying I have worked in Ireland and spent three years working in Australia, which was an amazing experience. The team at Swadlincote are fantastic to work with and everyone is very dedicated to providing excellent care for our patients. I love animals and my little dog Hobbes lives in Ireland with my Mum.

In my spare time, I can be found out running, cycling and or jumping into cold open water for a swim! I qualified in 1994 from Glasgow University, came to work here in Swadlincote that summer, and stayed here ever since! Both staff and clients are very friendly and easy to work with, and that's why I decided to stay.
Services
Here at Swadlincote Vets, our aim is to provide the best medical and surgical veterinary care for our patients in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We offer a 7-day-a-week service (excluding bank holidays) so no matter what day of the week your pet needs us, we are available with routine consultation appointments and affordable prices, alongside an additional conveniently placed branch in Melbourne.
We have some of the most wonderful and toughest patients here at Swadlincote Vets - these are some of their stories. Murphy is a 1 year old Miniature Schnauzer who presented to us due to vomiting, lethargy and appearing uncomfortable. One of our vets checked Murphy over found him to be painful when palpating his abdomen.
Congratulations on your new member of the family. Whilst this is a very exciting time for you, keep in mind that it is a unnerving time for your puppy as they are in unfamiliar surroundings. This fact sheet should help you prepare for everything they need. Sleep is an important activity for puppies.
During our opening times, you can come to us anytime, where emergencies will be seen as a priority. It is important in times of emergencies that you remain calm and call as soon as possible so a member of our team can guide you as to the next step. After hours our emergency cover is with with Pride Vets in Derby.
Pet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular.
