Oakwood is an imposing Victorian house built in 1861, standing in its own grounds, surrounded by countryside of outstanding beauty. Morning Coffee or Afternoon Tea, with our home-made produce, can also be provided for non-residents, by arrangement. Relax and enjoy the views in the lounge, where you can be served Coffee after your meal, or just take things easy with a drink from the bar.

After a long walk along Hadrian's Wall and arriving later than planned at the Oakwood, Wendy warmly welcomed us and knew that what we needed was to be shown to our rooms to rest. Wendy and her daughter were amazing hosts and were warm friendly and caring - just what we needed. And the cherry on top was the fantastic meal. Wendy is a fabulous cook.

I was very pleased with our stay at Oakwood Park. Rooms were clean and hostess was lovely and welcoming. The Victorian home is impressive. It felt like a special place to stay. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in the family room with three single beds and one queen size bed. The bathroom had a bath with an attached shower head but was not an enclosed shower. Wonderful stay. Thank you.

Wendy is the best hostess. Amazing accommodation and quiet location. Such character and charm. Large private rooms. Will be back for another visit. So close to Hadrain's Wall sights and Lakes District but not in a built up location. Fantastic food and service better than any 5 star hotel. Would have liked to stay for a week and explore more.
